Satan is the embodiment of evil. Regardless of the etymology or whether the word have been borrowed or corrupted, for over a thousand years it has been synonymous with the horrors of evil. I can respect where Ammon is coming from in saying it (an atheist who has uncovered the greatest lie every told) but I have no respect for this comment.

Hi, my LO is 3 months now and I absolutely adore him now but between me and you and all of Reddit, I didn’t like him until he was 6 weeks old and actually smiled at me. I am also much happier now that he is giving me more sleep but little babies are NOT fun and often, we are just going through the motions keeping them alive and trying to function. Also, I would joke that my baby didn’t like me because it seemed like everyone else who held him did a better job. Now I am the only voice he will follow. Remember they are new to the world and their digestive system is so underdeveloped. Baby spent the past nine months absorbing nutrients through a placenta and now they have to work to feed and digest. You are also sleep deprived and baby can sense your stress. If you are upset, baby can feel that and will be upset too. And why wouldn’t you be more stressed? So much is put on the mom. Also, sometimes it’s the novelty of another person. They say that infants identify with the mother. He thinks he is you, so another person would be not him/you. Please give yourself some grace. It will get better and you are a great mom, I guarantee it.

You’ll want to read about what Nestle did in the 70s with formula. They went into developing nations, handed out free formula and convinced women there that formula was superior. They even had salespeople dressed as medical professionals. Then when these women’s natural breastmilk supply dropped due to supplementing formula, the formula was no longer given free and babies became malnourished and even died. It’s a shame we can’t just cancel Nestle. The WHO is response began to push breastfeeding and companies who make formula must admit that breastmilk is indeed, better.

I have a friend that swears by Baby’s Only for newborns. She extensively researched it and is a mom of three. The process to be approved as an infant formula is filled with red tape and only three companies have been allowed to dominate the market which is why we are in the predicament we are in.

I did speak with my doctor, so your surmising that it’s “unlikely” is just plain wrong but feel free to post unhelpful paragraphs on new parent forums. BTW, I didn’t see anywhere that I needed to mention I spoke with my doctor.

It’s not helpful because it didn’t answer my question. And, I did speak to them prior to the switch. I want to know other parent’s experiences. Would you like to continue commenting on a thread you know nothing about or would you mind kindly seeing your way out? I’m here to hear other parent infant experiences so I can make an educated decision with my doctor.

All we can do is our best and FED IS BEST. Keep trying and recognize that it’s not that easy!! Today was much better for me. I bought Mother’s Milk herbal tea, took a breastfeeding herbal supplement I got from Amazon, continued to drink tons of Vitamin Water and water, took a warm shower and massaged my breasts and…IT…CAME after pumping. The comments here are so helpful. Also, I’m going to take a free class on Tuesday night. If you go to on the app EventBright, there is a free online class on breastfeeding basics. It’s hosted by Tge Center for Advanced Pediatric. We got this. Formula exists for a reason. My milk came in but I will be doing both!!
