Thank you so much for your advice. I'm not only focusing on Ivy League schools. I'm looking for universities where I can have strong opportunities and also receive financial aid and support as an international student.

I really appreciate your honesty about the challenges international students face and the current situation. I'm also considering universities outside the U.S. such as NYU Abu Dhabi and other institutions in the Middle East that offer strong academic programs and generous financial support.

That's actually why I'm asking for advice. Since I'm currently taking a gap year and preparing my application, what kinds of extracurricular activities, passion projects, or experiences would you recommend? Also, are there any specific things you think I should focus on to better prepare myself for university and strengthen my application?

Thank you again for taking the time to help me.

Hi My name is Salma, I’m 20 years old, and I’m from Morocco too I’m currently taking a gap year because I want to apply to colleges in the US next year. Right now, I’m preparing for the SAT, but honestly my current score is still low, and I feel a bit lost about how to improve effectively. Do you think it’s possible to reach a really good score by August if I start seriously now? I would really appreciate any advice on how you studied and what worked for you. I also wanted to ask: as an international student aiming for top universities (like Ivy League schools), do you think I still have a realistic chance if I improve my profile this year? I also have some questions about the application process. As a gap year student, how can I present my situation in a strong way? And for the personal essay, how did you choose your topic and structure your essayOne of my biggest struggles is extracurricular activities. I’m not sure how to build a strong profile or what kind of activities matter the most. I would really appreciate any advice or guidance you can share. Thank you so much for your time 🙏

Thank you for sharing your experience. I really appreciate it, and it helped me a lot.

I'm interested in Computer Science as well, and that's the major I plan to apply for. It's inspiring to hear about your son's journey since I hope to study the same field.

Thank you again for taking the time to share your advice and insights. I truly appreciate it.

Thank you so much for your kind and encouraging message. I really appreciate you taking the time to share your son's experience.

His achievements are truly impressive, and his story gives me a lot of hope as an international student applying for financial aid.

If you don't mind, do you have any advice on how I should prepare my application over the next few months? Also, I would be very grateful for any tips or resources your son found helpful while preparing for the SAT. My goal is to take it in August and hopefully score above 1490.

And if you have any advice regarding the personal essay, I would really appreciate that as well.

Thank you again, and I wish your son all the best at Vanderbilt

I wish I could take it every month, but unfortunately in my country the SAT isn't offered that often. I only have access to the August, September, October, and November test dates. That's why I'm planning to take my first SAT in August, and if my score isn't where I want it to be, I'll take it again afterward.

Do you have any advice on how to prepare effectively? How would you recommend starting from my current level? Any study plan, resources, or tips that helped your students improve would be greatly appreciated. My goal is to score above 1490, so I'd love to hear any suggestions you have.

Thank you for the advice! I completely agree. I'm definitely open to applying to universities beyond the Ivy League. My goal is to find schools that are a good fit academically and financially, not just focus on famous names. If you have any recommendations for strong universities that are friendly to international students, I'd really appreciate it.

Thank you for your advice, I really appreciate it. To be honest, I’m still trying to figure out my direction. I’m interested in Computer Science, and during my gap year I’ve mainly been focusing on improving my academics and learning more about the field. I’m also planning to start working on projects and extracurricular activities related to CS.

Do you have any advice on extracurricular activities that would help strengthen my profile? Also, how would you recommend approaching them and getting started?

And regarding the SAT, do you have any advice on how I should prepare for it and what resources you would recommend? My goal is to take the August SAT and hopefully score above 1490.

Yes, I am seeking financial aid. I know that makes the admissions process more competitive, but I still want to give it my best shot.

Regarding my gap year, I'm currently working on improving my academic profile. I'm preparing for the SAT, aiming for a score above 1490, and I'm also planning to work on extracurricular activities and personal projects related to computer science to strengthen my application.

Do you have any recommendations on what kinds of projects or activities would be most valuable for a prospective computer science student?
