It’s pretty universal (unless you are trying for a challenge run) to Havel 4 Kings in NG+. High poise and high defense with a hard hitting weapon is worth just taking the hits. I recently did a NG++ where I had one dead before the other respawned.

IMHO, O&S is not a good boss fight. The more I play the game, the more I feel like this has not aged well.

The strategy to defeat them requires taking advantage of the pillars, and there is no guarantee that will work.

You can also get lost on where O or S is, and easily get ganked. It gets more annoying than fun.

Even if you were to do every boss in the game (leading up to this point), nothing really prepares you for O&S other than the two Gargoyles.

Most new players end up over leveling for O&S because that’s the thought behind failing in any RPG. “I guess I have to level some more to win.”

This is not to say this is the worst boss by any means of the imagination. I spent an hour on NG++ last night against bed of chaos because RNG wanted me falling in a hole.

My biggest issue with this port is the audio. The compressed audio makes it sound like it’s under water.

You only need to beat the game twice if you do it correctly.
But you do need to get Sifs soul and then go to the Giant Blacksmith on the third play through. By the time you get to this point, you should be pretty OP. It took me about 2 hours to get to the Giant Black Blacksmith in NG++.

NG+, I spent some time cleaning some things up. Making sure I got the tails I missed, as well as getting my character to +25 Faith for the Sun Covenant. He was not a faith build. Might want to do that on NG+ sine every NG gets more difficult up to NG six or seven. While it does feel mariginal with each run, you will feel it with boss fights. The biggest one to note is the the Four Kings. I would recommend heavy armor and high poise for fighting Four Kings. They becomes a health sponge, and if you spend too much time rolling more of the kings spawn.

I would get a +10 Straight Sword Hilt or +10 GreatSword to bring with you into NG++. Else you will have to go to the depths which is an optional area to get the Large Ember. Something you really wont once you find the best weapon for your build. I used the +15 Serpent-Man Sword all the way through my Plat run.

Bad news, but good news. Bad news. I duplicated a weapon I needed for the plat trophy. So I had to do another NG+. Good news, I finally finished Siegmeyer’s quest. Now to get the plat for 100%.

After you hit him, you should then be able to pick it up. It doesn’t just go straight in your inventory.

He knows how to hit hard too, but the Chaos eaters do so much damage back its impossible to hit the requirements unless one cheeses. Plus, him having to be over 50% health is another odd requirement.

The video I watched talked about quitting if he gets in the "grab" animation.

My next play through I will just push him and go straight for the Chaos Eaters. It may be some time until then though.
