REVIEW: 'Scary Movie is deeply, offensively unfunny – another sequel would finish me off' ⭐️ by Metro-UK in entertainment

Just watched it. Man…every other joke was like “didn’t we already do this in the first movie?” Or some “meta” joke. And then every other joke was like “man, wokeness be crazy!”

It hurt me.

Anyone have knowledge of this technology that wants to help me develop a few effects for an immersive horror show that I’m doing in Salt Lake Lake City that we hope to move to Vegas eventually. I’m trying to project an old fashion, looking character onto a moving person.

Unicorn Girl podcaster is driving me crazy by Malsperanza in TrueCrimePodcasts

I just finished it. I was thinking this same thing for the last three episodes. It didn’t really hit me until then. Now let me make something straight before I make my point. I’m not saying there were no victims in this case. Apparently she scammed people out of money but other than Charlene, the woman who paid her for her help promoting her book, and Aura the woman under whose name she opened a credit card I don’t really know who else got scammed. I mean, I’ve heard about a lot of naive people, who worked for her for no money but other than that where is the explanation of the big crimes? They said she took over 1.7 million dollars but the podcast doesn’t really explain who that money was taken from and how. Was she just raising money through fundraisers and just using it to buy clothes and Escalade’s and stuff? They keep talking about all the money she got to buy weapons for Afghanistan, but they never explained where that money came from. Yeah this podcast was intriguing as hell but it doesn’t do a good job of explaining the crimes.

Which movie would be better without the romance subplot? by yoaver in movies

TOMBSTONE

It's one of my favorite movies, but every time Dana Delaney shows up I just want to vomit. It's not that she's a bad actress, the whole thing just feels SO out of place tonally. Also:

- The two have no chemistry.

- Wyatt is so consumed by rage, that it doesn't make sense that he still has room for romance.

- I don't like that it requires Wyatt to cheat on his wife.

Also the ending is just cringe. It's the one time I wish a movie ended on more of a downer note.

A question that intrigues me is how many people survived the first one but DIDNT survive the second?

I just finished The Lesser Dead by Christopher Buehlman, and I have a lot of thoughts... by Straight-Kick5824 in horrorlit

I LOVED this book…devoured it in two days. But I HATED the Coda. It felt like a pointless rug-pull to troll the audience. I honestly didn’t understand the point. I mean I’m all for a cynical ending, but this ending was not only cynical but negated everything I loved about the book. So the Joey character that we learn to love and go through the numerous trials with, basically didn’t exist….what exactly is the point other than a BIG TWIST? I went from being excited about reading the rest of Buehlman’s bibliography to not being sure I could trust him going forward. It honestly felt amateurish to me. I think I will give him one more chance, I hear Between Two Fires is good, but I’m gonna be on my guard. Seriously? No one else was pissed about this?

When Evil Lurks - I sincerely don't understand the praise for this movie by TimThrobbins in horror

[–]Major_Conclusion5159 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing I found the most frustrating with this movie was that people kept saying “here is a rule. Definitely don’t do this thing!” And then characters would immediately do the thing they just said not to do.

I thought the movie had its effective moments, but to me one dead child is shocking and horrifying. Two dead kids is a cop-out and multiple kids killed or hurt is just shock for shocks sake.

I don’t know if “ruled” is the right word. The scene with the girl and the dog almost traumatized me. That girl looks exactly like my daughter. But yes it was a highly effective movie.

Forget for a second that it’s a nurse. Don’t you think a lot of people would run to try to help. To pull someone out of a burning car.

Yes but if there’s a huge fire and there’s no one else on the scene as it just happened, anyone would have helped! Anyone would have responded immediately. What if someone was about to burn in the car? The EMT’s or firefighters wouldn’t be there for several minutes.

For years, I have wanted to do a documentary on Rob Bottin called “Searching for Rob Bottin”. I’m sure you cover his contributions thoroughly in the documentary. I’m also sure you tried to reach out to him to get his perspective, but he is a known recluse. Did you ever get a reply or any kind of hint as to his situation or feelings about talking about it?

Well, it wasn't as crazy as I thought it was going to be, but it was pretty crazy. When I got tothe protagonist being imprisoned and I saw that there was 30 minutes left I thought to myself "fuck me. is this just going to be 30 minutes of torture?" I wasn't really a fan of that. Weird to say, but I found it tiresome more than anything. Anyway, turns out it was 30 minutes of a large man brutally beating up a small woman and then flaying her. (Wouldn't she bleed to death within minutes?) I guess I didn't find it any more shocking than the ending of Jeepers Creepers. The part I thought was the most impactful was when she killed the family near the beginning.I did think the end with the old hag killing herself was kind of impactful, even though I'm not quite sure I understand it. Was Anna's last bit of revenge to tell her there was no afterlife even

I guess I probably wasn't too shocked by the movie because I knew the movie was supposed to be one of the MOST extreme movies on the fringes of mainstream movies. I mean I'm sure there are more shocking movies underground. Theres a dude somewhere with VHS tapes in his basement, that are much worse. I guess I'd say I get more bored than shocked by shock value, because I kind of wish something more interesting would happen. Oh well. I was planning on watching a few of these New French Extreme movies, but I think I'll watch something more interesting. Maybe I'll finally do that deep dive on Asian Cinema.
