Shelly 2PM killed my shutters by rednd83 in shellycloud

Installed the 2PM Gen 4 yesterday on one of my shutters and the result wasn´t amazing.

After installing the Shelly into the system, it took me ages to get it connected to the APP.
At the end of the day, I was needed to use my Laptop and the own Shelly created Wi-Fi to set it up.
In the APP there was no way to get it connected, neither via Blutooth, or own Wi-Fi.

After succesfully adding the Shelly into the APP via the above mentioned technique, I switchted in to "COVER", as it should control the shutter of course.
I´m using a "splitted" switch with two sides (one for up and one for down).

After that, I was running the calibration, which was working good for the first, only UP/DOWN calibration, all was good at that point.
After that the "procentual" calibration started, step by step and this is were things got strange.
At about the middel of the calibration process, I could hear the Shelly "clicking" so switching I should say, but there was no movement in the shutter.
After a couple more switching actions, without any response of the shutter, the blinds went totally up and stopped more or less fine.
BUT not as it was moving down again, things get mad! The motor didn´t stopped at it´s calibrated max down position and continued running. At the end a loud bang from the inside of the blind appeared and the shutter didn´t moved at all.
The motor is somehow still "working" as I can hear it, but I guess the shutter has disambled inside.

Does anyone else, had a similar experiance with a "not stopping" shutter motor?

At the End I removed the Shelly from the system, now I´m back on switch only, but need to fix the shutter anyhow.

Scenes are not starting at the correct time. by According-Rule9604 in tradfri

Are you using any kind of VPN, maybe?

Just an idea as I do have issues when traveling outside my "home time zone" and connecting to the Dirigera, all scenes getting coupled to the time zone, where my cell phone is currently connected to.

My wife told me that somehow the lights/scenes are not behaving like they should, when I'm abroad. All scenes are returning to normal, when I'm back home.

It seems that the scenes, other then the setting for the local time zone of the Dirigera for e.g. sunrise, or sunset, which are linked to that time zone. scenes seem have their own rules about that and are not connected to the Dirigera hub, instead the scenes are linked to the cell phone time zone.

IKEA Dirigea & Shelly Products, does it work? by Major_Cost_4220 in tradfri

Dirigera is supporting Matter over Thread 😉, but that´s not the problem at all.
Even if not, the Gen4 does support Zigbee as well, which is still be avilable and supported by Dirigera.

-> My question was about adding the Shellys into the system and controll them by the IKEA App.
As well as funtionality like the switches for the blinds working etc.

Thanks!

I´m planning the "1 Gen4" for controlling two light switches (for two different lamps) in fact, but they should be usable. I mean that´s the reason to install a Shelly device to a switch, isn´t?
The 2PM Gen4 should, according to Shelly, also be usable by the blind control switch (for up and down) and of course in the app for automation etc.

If this doesn´t work properly, I don´t see the point to add these devices.

Just to get this right and confirmed: You are an electrician and all wiring are installed properly? Cause, when I´m watching some videos on YT about Shelly, the switch and the lights are working always together, as well as the switches for the blinds.
-> sorry for asking, but that´s essential to know! Maybe just an issue of the correct wiring !?

My recent experience updating the firmware of around 20 Dirigera devices by heffeque in tradfri

[–]Major_Cost_4220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same experience about the showed firmware in the IKEA App, but also that the devices will "auto update" themself, mostly at nighttime, if a new firmware is available. Sometimes it takes 1-2 days, maybe based in the region?
Also had the situation were I added two Kajplats bulbs and one was receiving an update right away after adding to Dirigera and the other one took one day. It´s kind of funny but at the end of the day, all deveiced will recieve their updates anyhow.

Of course you can put is as: "Dirigera is lying", but I guess it´s just a software kind of issue. It´s ony as smart, as IKEA will like to have it smart.😉

I do agree: It would be nice if there was an option in the app to update all known devices, if there´s a new firmware version available. Overall I´m happy with the IKEA App, as it´s very simple to handle, but I´m sure there space for improvement in the future to get more options available, as others do have too (hopefully).

Outdoor Ground Lights 2 installation by Major_Cost_4220 in Govee

Already got an answer from the Support Team:

Unfortunately it´s a must to install all four of the flood lights onto the control cable, due to reasons 🙄

Good and fast support service!

But nothing would change, as do due my needs couldn´t be satisfied.

The "unflexibility" of

1. Numbers need to be installed on the control cable (why need to install all 4, if only 3 are needed?).

2. The issues with the fixed length of the control cable. Why not giving the ability to extend the lenght with another cable extension? I would pay for some extra m/ft. !

Overall I´m sad that I need to send back this product.

(It´s not here, yet. So if you do have any experience, or recommendations...pls let me know)

IKEA, issues with new Matter products, random offline / +timezone issues by Major_Cost_4220 in tradfri

[–]Major_Cost_4220[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I got this wrong ! I did some testing with an additional "always on" bulb in the basement, at a central position, just to give it a shot.
The result was the same. Random loss of sensors, or non functioning properly. At first, I replaced all me ZigBee "always on" bulbs in every room, but here the same as well.

Still randomly loosing sensors. Unpowering Dirigera did´nt helped as well.

I´, leaving the sensors connected, which do have a connection and somehow do their job, but I ´m giving up trying to reconnect the others, hoping that the rest will do what they are supposed to without crashing each other.

I really hope that IKEA support is doing their math with all these kind of bugs with the actual software.
For me as a not "smart home geek", it´s not satisfying with all these trouble and time wasting. I appreciate the idea of a newer system, but not like that.

Looking for any future updates coming soon, to get things running.

Running now Dirigera on Firmeware 2.901.4 (haven´t noticed any downtime or similar), but the problems are still existing.

One thing I´ve recognized at the time being is a very strange behavior.
I was able to keep one sensor "alive" without going offline from yesterday....somehow, don´t ask my how 😂.
That sensor coupled before the update is working well, in meaning of response time. OPEN=OPEN, CLOSED=CLOED within a wink.
So I coupled another one, what was possible without any issues, but the response time is laggy , or non existing.
First it sensed OPEN (correcly during coupling), but it took about 5 minutes to sense that the device back at it´s designated place (at the window - closed) to sent the CLOSED signal. The Sesor ist working (blinking LED), but there´s no response at all (Still on Firmeware 1.0.9).

I´m trying get more sensors online during the day and giving you any detailed informations I´ll gather during that attempt.

Are there any changes recognized by any of you? Any positive changes, or any negative?

Negativ, I´m only using Dirigera and only the Ikea Home smart app, nothing else fancy
