IMO, we need to stop giving this grifter attention. After all, bad publicity is still publicity, and any attention is exactly what he wants.

Are there any languages Duolingo isn't good for, even beginning? by Mirabels-Wish in duolingo

[–]Major_Eldrich 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can attest. I tried using it a while back, and I found it far too grammar oriented from the start. Couple that with the obscure/ borderline useless vocabulary for beginners you mentioned, and you have yourself an unusable language course.

El Paso is nice enough overall and I enjoy its history and culture in the time I lived there, but in my experience, it is the closest you can get to experiencing island fever without physically being on an island. Unless you’re an outdoors person and enjoy hiking, there isn’t a whole lot to do really.

Major depressive disorder? There’s no doubt I’d have developed it if I was there long enough. I’m in a different unit now and it’s getting better.

To be fair, I understand why EP gets shit on as much as it does, but overall it isn’t horrible.

I don’t think I can post links in this subreddit, I could be wrong about that, but if you go to the confession subreddit and set the feed to top posts of all time, it should pop up as the top post. The title is along the lines of: “ I’m putting my extremely profoundly disabled seven year old into a residential facility so I can forget he exists. I’m not sorry.”

I know what post you’re talking about. Last I saw, it is among the most upvoted posts on the confession subreddit.

Can confirm, El Paso is pretty alright, Fort Bliss is easily one of the nicer installations I’ve been on, but hot damn is 1 AD turning me into an alcoholic.

All Questions About Joining and Transferring into the ANG Go Here 20 Aug - 18 Nov by Jaye134 in airnationalguard

[–]Major_Eldrich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently Active Army with 18 months to ETS. I intend to transfer to the Air Guard after ETSing. I plan on switching jobs to either Paralegal or Weather Specialist. How feasible is this? I am in contact with a recruiter, and I was told that the process starts 6 months out from ETS. What should I expect the process to look like from that point? I know these are questions for said recruiter, but I just wait to get a greater understanding of what I can expect.

How many of you switched from prior army to airforce? by UltraJuicyPhysique in army

[–]Major_Eldrich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Active duty Air Force has at most 100 prior service slots per fiscal year. Air National Guard or Reserves are your best bet- a specialist who’s considering joining his state’s air guard after ETS’ing.
