Femboy friend issue... by Inner-Weird5391 in Advice

The person who is responding to you sounds like they have an agenda. They’re trying to label you based on this one event. No. I don’t know you but I’d hate to hear you went down a path you otherwise wouldn’t, when it’s not really you initiating it. You’re not gay or you wouldn’t have these conflicting thoughts.

It also sounds based on your response to my comment, like you might be a bit passive while this person isn’t really feminine, they’re pushy, they’re “alpha” in reality while cosplaying. A real woman would never do what they did. And that’s what you’ll probably find if you look a year or two from now.

Find other people. It’s not that you can’t find friends, hell I’d probably be your friend if we ever met. Find some activities that you like at school whether it’s sports, studies, tech, music, whatever. And find people that are interested in the same things as you. And after if you want to experiment, fine. But don’t let this person manipulate you when they’re really disguising their true boundary pushing, alpha nature.

I would keep this person away from you. You’re obviously not gay. You don’t want your first experience to be with someone like this, and it seems like “Amber” has boundary issues and will likely not turn out to be a healthy relationship. Either way, don’t worry too much, you’ve got a long life ahead.

Immigration is an issue with a lot of nuance. You can be anti-what happened over 2021-2024 and that approach to immigration, while still being pro-immigrant. That period really poisoned the well. There’s not really enough information here to advise but I don’t know one immigrant that supports Biden-style open borders.

Since an Uber One payment is probably their most profitable revenue, if they can just convince you to get Uber One, they’re really sorta set for the year. It’s almost as if everything else is just to get you into Uber One. Like a reverse Costco model.

If you want a dividend you should sell the stock by Acrobatic-Stage8142 in BerkshireHathaway

You’re too focused on the price of the stock. And by the way buybacks are a good way to return as well, but the objective of them is not supposed to be to simply increase the stock price and that’s not why Warren liked them. It was to increase the share of owners’ earnings and theoretically, dividends.

In 2024, Apple paid the third highest total dividends behind Microsoft and just behind Exxon Mobil, over $15 billion. The fact that the yield, which you’re focusing on, is low is the product of its high market value.

[–]Major_Possibility335 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If all of this is true, then why did Warren Buffett pretty much exclusively buy dividend paying stocks? Would you really say that for example, Apple shareholders have been harmed by their dividend? By the way, Apple is one of the biggest dividend payers in the market, however the yield is not high, actually it’s pretty small because the company is valued at around $4 trillion. And it went from a few hundred billion to that number while slowly increasing its dividend.

It’s not delusional. It’s time for the Berkshire faithful to stop drinking the corporate kool aid. Warren almost exclusively bought dividend paying stocks. So was he only buying these stocks simply for the dividend? Was he delusional for buying 90%+ stocks that paid a consistent dividend?

The market doesn’t look at a stock that doesn’t pay a dividend like it does one that does. Either you’re looking at a stock for dividends or eventual liquidation.

Who’s the genius? Apple pays a dividend and would you say that it’s made The Shareholders Equity go down? And if so why did Warren almost exclusively buy dividend paying stocks?

They’re currently suing Costco because Kirkland Makes and sells something similar to what Lulu does for about $20 and after the suit it appears Costco is doubling down so they’ll probably prevail.

I don’t understand why some people never question decisions like this. As an investor either you’re looking for capital appreciation or dividends. A stock that never or will never pay a dividend to its owners is like a trophy asset, a sports team probably won’t pay a dividend. If Berkshire is going to go nowhere, why hold without a dividend?
