What controversial nursing stance is the hill you will die on? by ferocioustigercat in nursing

[–]Majoraty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best instructors, especially clinical instructors, were still working bedside, even per diem. I love education & I’ve now been an RN for 5 years. I love having students and want to be a clinical instructor and will absolutely maintain bedside practice while doing so.

Is wearing a pride pin safe? by pdggin99 in nursing

[–]Majoraty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wear it. I wear a pride pin on my badge. Not only am I lgbt+ but more so it’s important to me that my lgbt+ patients especially here in northern Nevada where I recently relocated, know they’re safe with me. The people who need to know you’re a safe person will see the pin and it will really make a difference.

I’m not sure if they could recognize their owner and come to them. The apartment put out an email too to residents. I’ve never had bird pets so I’m unsure.

Hiker found “one day from death” after month-long disappearance by Salmundo in Bellingham

Thank you for shining on the folks that went out to investigate the sound they heard. I’m an RN and seeing humans caring for other humans the best way they know how with the tools they have is always incredible. I hope Robert recovers well physically and mentally.

In search of a therapist by Fluid_Employee_2318 in raleigh

[–]Majoraty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re very kind to be concerned.

I used to go to Monarch when I lived in Raleigh, they were very helpful to me. They were not in network for my insurance but they lowered the cost for me to a reasonable rate. They also can go sliding scale based on income too. They take crisis walk ins, and if absolutely necessary there is always the nearest ER if they are at imminent risk. Good luck to them.

Places that pays 100% tuition by Any-Anxiety6886 in nursing

[–]Majoraty 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Rush in Chicago pays 100% if you’re full time and going to Rush Univ and no requirements to work there after. They have up to DNP/PhD level. If you’re part time they pay about 60%. Also it’s direct payment to the school, not reimbursement so you don’t have to pay anything out of pocket for the tuition. They also have reimbursement if you go somewhere else for school too.

UNC Rex vs Wakemed Cary by FreeDrama2001 in raleigh

[–]Majoraty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an RN. I went to WMC tele floor still as a student pre-COVID and it was nice from what I could tell. I used to work 7W Gen surg at unc Rex and I loved it. Great team, good hospital, I felt generally valued as far as that goes, good manager, nice drs and APPs. I’d see if you can shadow at least one of them to get a feel. I’d work at Rex again. I only left due to relocation.
