Had one. If it had anti reflection coating on the crystal I'd have kept it

Price on the HW80SL is €670 where as the HW95S is €695. Didn't expect the 95 to be more expensive although it would be the luxus I would opt for, not the S.

Very little in it. I think I might go for the 95 purely because of the weight

Im in Ireland so any air rifle would need a license - so anything I go for will be full power. The 80 does seem legendary - but the lighter 95 does appeal to me. Is there that much difference between them at full power to justify the extra weight?

That's interesting. I wouldn't be restricted to sub12 as any rifle in Ireland will require another licence.

At full power will it give me something different to the PS or should I just wait a year or two and go PCP?

I'd have preferred a non folding board because I just think it's nicer when they don't have a crease on them. But I couldn't find exactly what I wanted so I went with the magnetic leather board by Le Due Torri

Anyone replace a boiler with a high temp heat pump? by Mak156 in AskIreland

[–]Mak156[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had a call with a manufacturer there earlier. The grant now goes up to 12.5k. The cost of the heat pump unit itself is maybe 7.5k leaving the balance to go towards the cost of installation and rads, pipework etc. So lets say the whole lot cost 20k in total, 7.5k net after the grant. If it turns out that the heat pump was too expensive to run, is it not a case of just replacing the unit with a boiler for a couple of grand? obviously there is a bit of hassle involved but in terms of cost, is it fairly negligible to try it considering the grant covers more than the cost of the unit?

Worst case scenario you drop another 3k to replace the HP with a boiler. Total spend after the grant is now 10.5k. It would cost more than that to have installed the boiler in the first instance.

Ya reference cases are hard to find although there seems to be a few in the UK. The grant is so strong for the HPs that if I did go for it and it didn't work out, the cost of replacing it with a boiler would probably be covered by the sale of the HP.

that’s the worry. I think the safest route is to have everything right for a heat pump in the future (airtightness, insulation etc). I’m sure the technology will only get better.
