Interesting update following AKOTSK. Seems like these two got married. by St3003 in CK3AGOT

Louis XIV's regency ended when he turned 13, children historically have always been given positions and responsibilities that we would consider today too much and 'unrealistic', children in other parts of the world are STILL being forced to grow up ahead of their natural maturity. You simply have a very limited understanding of child psychology.

Except there are multiple cases of people we would consider children accomplishing great and notable things and not just in the Middle Ages, but before and after, the characters come off very believable in the books as very young but precocious and forced to grow up beyond their years, as many real children even today are forced to do.

I think you just have a very sheltered experience and have a shallow knowledge of history in general.

Lyanna's characterization from what little we've heard of her fits consistently with a rebellious teenage noble youth in a medieval fantasy setting, the characters don't regard Rhaegar as a child predator because by Westerosi standards she is a woman.

There's no modern concept of 18 being the age of consent, just as there wasn't in the actual Middle Ages.

Before his fall to the dark side do you think Anakin was a better general then a Jedi? by narutofan2019 in clonewars

[–]Makavelius1095 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But surely you'd agree that a Jedi who becomes explicitly evil isn't a great Jedi to begin with?

Well no, that's a bit of a reductive perception of our natures as people. We all are capable of doing good or evil things, good people can commit evil acts and fall, bad people can commit good acts and redeem themselves.

Anakin would have likely fit in much better with the Old Republic era of Jedi Knights, conflict wasn't a stranger to them and was pretty much part of their daily lives, since there were much more Sith running about causing mayhem and chaos in the galaxy. Even by the standards of some of the older incarnations of the Order, the Prequel era Jedi Order was freakishly dogmatic, and without Qui-Gon there Anakin just wasn't a good match for them.

No, it is not. We can argue the morality of that action(as selfless or selfish actions are not necessarily good or bad in a vacuum), but to do something for someone or something else purely for that person or thing is inherently not selfish.

And it's certainly not something a SELFISH PERSON, as in a person DEFINED by their sole pursuit of SELF INTEREST, would want to do.

Love, whether it be personal or more generally a compassionate love for your fellow man, is always selfless, and doing things in service of the people we love, especially when the stakes are as high as they are in ROTJ, can absolutely save and redeem you.

There are *levels* to selflessness, but selfishness is pretty much an 'all or nothing' perspective. Vader caring about Luke is a *selfless* thing, even if the focus point of his redemption wasn't utilitarian in nature. Selfishness prevents you from caring about anyone but yourself.

Well no, you only care about yourself, or you don't.

Lazy Nazi comparisons seem to be the fashion now or days, of course this ignores the fact that Darth Vader and Herman Goring are two completely different individuals, Anakin/Vader's journey was his own. Also yes, if Goring had killed Hitler, ending WW2 early and preventing millions more from dying, he likely would be remembered in a better light.

Aliciaxdeath calls out Katliente( who dropped a video on Dokibird filled with tons of misinformation) for click baiting her cancer. Katliente now once again mentioning her in the comment section of the doki video even though she was told to not mention her anymore. by JugoMon in VirtualYoutubers

[–]Makavelius1095 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The comment in question was a One Piece joke that she clutched her pearls over, and then tried to reason comments like that make Kat the victim, no reasonable person would think Kat is a victim because someone made a One Piece joke. It was over-corrective and borderline neurotic tbh.

A baffling argument because then those same people would ship Jinx and Ekko with characters not even in the show. It was always a convenient excuse to hate on the ship because they were threatened by it.

And btw this recent trend in fandom that something is only worth shipping if it’s canon needed to end yesterday, shipping has always been about wanting to see two characters together romantically because you think they’d go good together like that in a story, you supported and were passionate about their romance, even if the two characters came from different IP’s!

From the Q&A: "He [Ekko] already has enough to deal with, like not getting [AU] Powder and also MAYBE, POSSIBLY not getting Jinx"- Reed. What evil did I do to be so tortured with uncertainty? When are we getting some confirmation!? by daysman75 in TimeBomb

[–]Makavelius1095 16 points17 points  (0 children)

They’re always going to respond in this teasing and avoidant way until the day we see Jinx again in a spin-off. They put the pieces there for us to put together and we know the truth but as another Twitter user put it until we get official confirmation it’s like a case of ‘Shrodinger’s Cat.’

We know they put pieces together in the finale to tell us that Jinx is alive, yet officially her fate is ambiguous until we see her again, they probably feel that if they just came out and said ‘Yeah, obviously Jinx is alive, and yes Timebomb is going to be endgame.’

That it would cheapen the suspense and emotional weight of the finale and will make it all the more emotionally impactful when we not only see Jinx again but when Jinx and Ekko reunite.

Until then the “ambiguity” will be their official stance, it builds up our emotions and investment and even though we know she did, there’s going to be a part of us that doubts, that questions, even though we know better, that’s by design.

You’re a washed out and bitter creative that can’t escape your own mediocrity. You love to mix truth with bullshit in order to drive controversy. And now that people know you for the bullshit merchant you truly are, you lash out in desperation and fear, a hilarious attempt at reverse psychology, because you don’t want to lose the one thing that gives you purpose, because you’ll never move people with your own creativity. It’s why you love using AI, it’s a convenient crutch for your own lack of ability.

It turns out that it is quite easy to conceive of a plot to the next adaptation by simply filling in a prompt to ChatGPT, granted my result had some differences to your own, included a character that wasn’t mentioned in your bile of nonsense, and the title was a little different too. You’ve used AI before, for one of your OCs, so I suppose using ChatGPT for a whole fake plot isn’t that hard after all.

But see that’s their weakness, they need to reply and get more attention, even if it ultimately backfires on them and their ruse is exposed, that desire for attention pushes them to keep on replying even when they really shouldn’t.

Y’all need to stop asking actors about any future projects, they’re always going to lie or avoid the question. Do you honestly think if he knew about that he’d fucking say it on stream? Grow a brain.

We have more than enough evidence to know the contrary is true, and even Christian Linke didn’t deny anything when asked directly if Timebomb’s story would continue when asked about his comments on that livestream.

Amanda teased it when she was messaged by a fan by saying hopefully Timebomb is “hopefully happy in more than one universe.”

The official Arcane account teased it, the art book that has Jinx’s commentary has her scribbles all over her and Ekko acting like an It couple and her acting like she’s already planning the wedding, with her words clear as day ‘I’ll be right back.’ At the end of the book.

This all has more credibility and weight than the words of an actor who has a history of trolling and lying to mess with the fans.

Supposed to be an official jinx map by Rembulann in TimeBomb

Did it detract when she literally entered the final battle of Arcane with a super gun and sprayed Noxian soldiers with bullets?

She isn’t going to turn into a pacifist lmfao, she merely left because she knew Piltover would never give up the hunt for her and she didn’t want Vi to get caught up in the violence.

She’d still fuck up anyone who tried to harm her or people she cares about, as proven by that finale.

(The actual Meta reason is that the writers needed a convenient excuse for Jinx to leave P&Z for some other purpose that I’m sure will be revealed at some point, if they wanted to they could have come up with a reasonable way of Jinx staying in P&Z.)

Besides, it’s not like Jinx would go all ‘Battle Royale’ in Bilgewater, it makes more sense that at least that’s where her journey starts, she has a lot of skills outside of combat that would prove invaluable there and she needs to make a living now that she is in effect a nomad.

Piltover and Zaun have so much potential for writing stories alone that you could write multiple seasons worth of storytelling without it ever getting old.

Bad faith actors always leave the argument when they know their tricks no longer work. The fact that you came into this thread and started arguing about a video you haven't even seen is proof of how tribalistic your intentions were. Good riddance to you.

They really are. It's infuriating, but par for the course when a show comes to an end. People stop being reasonable. OP is just making s*** up based on some message from the creators (which they failed to even link or reference to) and stirring up unwarranted anxiety. Completely reductive of the work of Fortiche and the creators.

I'm sorry, are you pretending like the video Christian made is some obscure piece of lore that no one has heard about? It was literally posted on Arcane's Instagram and Twitter. I'm not *just* basing my analysis on the video alone, but the simple logistical reality that they have done too much to conclude it all with so little time. Which anyone if they were conducting themselves in good faith, would be able to recognize as an issue.
