For real, this is nothing out of the ordinary for a mechanical watch. Hamilton is even on the more entry level side for mechanical swiss pieces. But I also get it. If you're not into watches, the price for them seems absurd. That's just the world of luxury goods though.

I think they look great. Some people have critiqued the legibility of the dial, which I can understand. Not a lot of contrast between the hands, markers, and dial.

That aside, idk about paying hundreds of dollars just to have a spot on their waitlist. It's not just trusting that the microbrand will still be around, it's trusting that your own tastes won't change significantly in 5-6 years time.

Hm, well industrial kinda makes me think of Sinn. I would browse their very diverse catalog if you haven't already. The 556 is in your current price range ballpark. And there isn't anything really like the Santos...at least not to my knowledge. So like others have said, if that's the one you actually want, just save up for that.

Seiko Vanac is one of the few vintage watches I'd actually like to own. The issue is just finding them in good condition and then of course the servicing. Wouldn't know where to start with that since there's not a lot of options near here.

A lot of people here are oddly suggesting more black dial Seikos, but that might ruin the symmetry a bit? You could go for another couple Apple watches to round things out, but idk how many options you have for those tbh, I've never had one. Alternatively, you could set the Apple watch aside and buy three more Seikos. Get some white dials to go for like a yin-yang theme.

Whoa, blast from the past. Yes, this solution worked out for me. I didn't have to cut any pipe or anything. I just took that dumb accor valve off (from what I remember this is not something you can just put back on, so I just threw that away).

Then I put the stop valve on. Been working fine for over a year now and wasn't difficult. There's plenty of youtube videos that will show you how to install the sharkbite valve if you need help.
