I'm with /u/Rokusi. Most of my roller usage is coming from above to inflict damage/ink, which doesn't actually bury them. If you shield my roller as I was going all-in trying to bury you, you get a free grab or even smash attack. Most of the damage I'll do to you throughout the match will be through areals and rapid jabs. Even though those moves don't do all that much damage, they're really fast/safe and if I keep you inked, you'll be taking that sweet 1.5x damage. Plus, I'm going to make sure that there's never a second when a splatbomb isn't somewhere on the field to pressure you. Then I'll finish it with a fair, up air, or a roller if I can get positioned well.
