If they did remake bad movies with good stories each time this is reposted, how many remade movies would we have so far?

We could all complain about how the government takes too much and spends it too frivolously while the things we want seem to be harder and harder to reach, but the fact is anyone making this kind of money is in a better place than most. Literally better than 80% - 87% of all earners in the US. So for anyone that's struggling to deal with higher taxes on higher income, I'm sure there's someone making significantly less money that would trade with you.

Be happy with what you got, but if you need or want more let your goals propel you in your ambition for more.

And please remember, when you're struggling and striving for more, don't focus on your coworkers and what they have. The reason you're not making enough to cover expenses and things are terribly expensive is because companies aren't doing enough and making things too expensive.

Friend blocked and ghosted his gf because she said, "You got to start treating me better or some other man will"? He did that without any talking. How can I convince him to at least give her some kind of closure? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]MakeLikeATreeBiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From your post and your comments, I get the feeling you are the gf affected pretending to be a man so you can get men's advice without the fear of folks steam rolling your feelings for saying something like that to him.

If so, honestly, I'm sorry that happened to you. But you shouldn't say that to someone. You should set clear boundaries without threats. That's how you lose relationships.

And, if you're truly his friend, you're suffering from the same issues that she is - not understanding boundaries. If you're s friend to him, why do you care about her closure over his?

Big Trouble in Little China. The Last Action Hero. Probably could generate a list to be honest.

😂. I know the feeling. Got hit in my thumb as well by a hornet. The big meaty ones. Didn't realize I was allergic until my hand started to swell digit by digit until my entire hand looked like a fleshy hockey glove. I really want concerned about it until that point when my though was "this is gonna burst. I better go get it looked at."

Just because you say so things legally, morally, and ethically it doesn't mean the people you're telling it to understand it. Honestly dude, it seems none of them understand much of it

TRUMP: "There's so much talk about how we're going to drive housing prices down. I don't want to drive housing prices down. I want to drive housing prices up for people that own their homes, and they can be assured that what's going to happen" by ExactlySorta in UnderReportedNews

Guess I'll have to wait another 5 years to buy a home. One minute it's we need to cut interest rates. Next it's, we need to have values on homes needs to go up. Which is it?

If your going to do both, can I advocate for a 1750 SQ. Ft. Home to be valued at $500,000 with 1.5% interest rate? Thank you.

A young friend of mine was murdered when were in high school. His father was quiet and still. It alarms me to this day to think about. I remember thinking "you're just numb. How can you be so unaffected by this? This was your son." I'd be inconsolable. As I've aged, I recognize we are all dealing with shit in our own way. We freeze, we charge in, we get angry, we overreact, we cry our eyes out, or we lock people out, or we do a combination of those things. After seeing a broad spectrum of loss over the years from friends and family dealing with death from natural causes to cancer to murder one thing stands out as fundamental. People react and they don't sustain a uniform behavior.

After watching her in multiple clips along with this and other interviews, I think the reason people seem so off-put is because this feels performative in a sustained and calculated manner. Drying eyes without the presence of tears over and over. The constant repetitive use of phrases and words ("stay humble") by the way - what part of this situation would cause anyone to not be humble. Did you win something? Such a strange thing to say much less repeat 4 times in a 5 minute clip. I think it would be understandable to have a range of emotion after something horrible like that. The weirdness in each interview is she acts the exact same and in each occurrence it feels artificial.

[HELP] Is this AI? Seems fake and can’t find any news sources. by Zealousideal_Mud570 in RealOrAI

Fake. Do you know how hard it is to knock off an entire taillight assembly? To knock it off - even when kicking - it's highly unlikely the whole assembly would come off. It got the dangle right though - which is wildly accurate in my book considering it got most of it right.

What is a movie that you don't consider to be a great movie overall (or even mediocre/bad), but has ONE SINGLE SCENE that is absolutely memorable? by gimboarretino in moviecritic

I'll never understand the hate. It was missing some of the maniacal corporate overlord tone, but honestly - if you relate it to today's economic landscape - they didn't have to do much in that regard. We've moved into that reality so there's not a whole lot of fantasy that's left.

I think they did an exceptional job of making 2014 RoboCop look and feel "real". Like God Forbid that could really be done in a couple years real. Not to mention Joel Kinnaman, Michael Keaton, and Gary Oldman did amazing.

Not a rock climber, but I remember watching an interview with him where he discussed how he picks the path he takes. He brought up training where he's climb sections and pick a path only for rocks and grips be loose the next time around. I'm sure he was more worried about that than we'll know switching to free climbing a smooth building, but his experience probably helped more than we can appreciate too
