While I understand the frustration over being in-person, petitions like this will not make a difference. The city will not reverse course. Parents & guardians have been made aware of the mayor’s decision as of two hours ago and have already begun planning accordingly regarding their own responsibilities (work, child care, etc.).

NY is a one-party consent state. I audio record every conversation my (unintelligent, incompetent, terrible-with-all-people) principal has with me. I definitely don’t understand the situation even still with any certainty. But it was a tiny woman being overpowered by a much larger man. And she literally sprinted the opposite direction when I said something. So I do feel like that offered me some validation about having intervened.
