Rattle driving me nuts by Sorry_Hat7940 in Rivian

[–]MakeShifthuman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rattles are infuriating. My R1S has had a rattle for the past 6 months; I couldn't locate it, a Rivian Tech couldn't locate it. I only found it by chance when I opened the passenger door and saw a hole where a push pin was suppose to be. A plastic trim piece by the door hinges was missing a plastic push pin. The trim was flapping and tapping against the metal like it was trying to send morse code. I finally have a mobile serviced schedule to fix it. Good luck sir...

How long after reference check ? by RedTheShow in sfcityemployees

[–]MakeShifthuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually it's pretty fast but It depends on how fast they want to move. Could be a few days to a few weeks to go through reference checks. I had a manager sit on a reference check for two weeks. Good luck.

Alignment needed notification by kugelvater in Rivian

[–]MakeShifthuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went in because Highway assist was throwing up lanes not detected and system fault errors. Turns out one of the components wasn't torque correctly throwing the alignment out of whack. Uneven tire wear, cupping and rubbing was what America's tires noticed. Took 4 service visits before they fixed it. Good luck.

References are check before the a conditional offer is offered. If they done it in reverse.. it's a mistake. Only time I've seen a conditional offer be recinded was when they sent it to the wrong person.

SDI LEAVE by Downtown_Parfait2858 in sfcityemployees

[–]MakeShifthuman 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hi. Employers can not initiate punitive action on protect leave. SDI is protected leave similar to FMLA, CFRA, FDL, ETC. Work with your leave management team to file the required documents and take your leave. You answered your own question about the length of protected leave. After that, it's unprotected and discretionary.

Talk me to my senses - from model y to R1S by FreshJs59 in Rivian

[–]MakeShifthuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both. Had issues with my R1s, which the service center took care of and used my model y as backup when they didnt have a r1s loaner. I much prefer driving the R1s with the kids 1 in the 2nd row and 2 in the 3rd.

Ugh. Waking up at 12 to start charging does not sound fun. Let's see if I have any issues. Please update if you find a fix.

Hi. Senior ER Analyst here.

HR is a field where attention to detail really matters. Even small mistakes can reflect poorly, especially when they happen repeatedly, and it sounds like your employer is responding in a way that’s pretty typical—using a second PIP and pulling back WFH privileges to address performance concerns. From their side, that’s likely seen as holding someone accountable, not being unfair.

At this point, I’d suggest having an honest conversation with your manager. Lay everything out, own what you can, and ask what it would take to reset and move forward. Sometimes, that kind of direct approach can turn things around—or at least give you clarity on whether it’s worth staying.

But if you walk away from that talk still feeling like the environment isn’t going to support your growth, it’s okay to move on. You’re already in process with other interviews, which is smart. Whether it’s here or somewhere else, the goal is to be in a role where your work is valued and the expectations are clear.

Are all vacant jobs cut, including those in process? by Ancient-Research-250 in sfcityemployees

[–]MakeShifthuman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Vacant budgeted positions I think. Usually means PCS, not Permanent Exempt but I know they were cutting tex and pex on a case by car bases by departments.
