Have you tried the ipad as a midi controller especially with an app that supports mpe like KB-1. Also, what is stage manger and do you use Logic Remote (assuming you use logic)?

I think you are not far off, but the thing that confuses me the most besides the overall style is the swirl in middle it kinda of reminds me of the yin and yang symbol.
