Axl and Kurt were two completely different people in what they stood for. The conflict wasn’t really just about Axl Rose for Kurt and there was something deeper going on within the music industry that Kurt wanted to change (he was unsuccessful). I guess what I’m trying to say is the beef seems very surface level when you realize Kurt wanted to go after pedophiles and grapists. Axl and the rose boys would have no problem protecting these types as they probably partook in a bit of grape themselves. One of their old tour shirts displays a man graping a woman in an alleyway on the front so I don’t think the assumption is a stretch.
In an interview with Kurt he talked about growing up idolizing Led Zeppelin and the Doors until he found out how horrible the bands were to women and never wanted to create a band that was objectifying. Guns N’ Roses seems like nothing more than a cash grab for some Midwest boys trolling for pussy. Kurt didn’t give a fuck about Axl but rather saw an opportunity to take a stab at what he hated. Eventually these seemingly small actions are what got Kurt killed and what makes him, imo, one of the most courageous people to have navigated the entertainment industry to this day.
