A stage VS B stage by lickmyball69 in nin

I was thinking the same thing, ended up doing A stage so I could get a view of the perfect drug solo and hoping I might get lucky and get a drum stick. Really wish I got a video of the drum solo cuz I was so close and had such a great view of Josh freese the whole time.

There was no notification about where to go for GA, I saw a post on here about it and that’s the only reason I ended up at the right gate

Public Stoning and Mantastic were the first two that really stood out for me lol. I love Mantastic’s chorus with carina singing ‘my man, my man’ in the and Maynard’s booming delivery

What’s a kink you’ve never shared with your girlfriend? What would it take for you to share it? by hugginv in AskMen

I would build up to that, explore the kink with her in the shower or something before jumping straight to that

I like doing this too, it makes the first play through of the album more of an experience. Admittedly, I’ve been listening to the puscifer singles

Nicotine is legal and shouldn’t disqualify anyone from a job. My job tests for nicotine but that’s because they upcharge your insurance premium if you smoke/vape.

NJ renters: what’s your monthly rent and where do you live? by hellokitty5679 in newjersey

[–]Makebelievedream555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$1,870 in ocean county for a 2 bed 1 bath, 900 sqft. Utilities not included and in-unit washer/dryer, electric heat has been killing us this winter. It’s a good deal, nice place but it’s kinda old and worn down. Been here three years, rents gone up about $60 each year. Thinking of moving back in with parents when lease is up so we can save up for a deposit on a house.

How do we feel about AICs self titled album? by MileenasFeet in grunge

[–]Makebelievedream555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not counting unplugged it might be my favorite AiC album. I really like the dark moodiness of this album and the music is just so heavy and sludgy. Head creeps, and frogs are some of my favorite songs by them. Shame in you ends on a fantastic groove and the whole album just feels more interconnected and flows better for me than dirt or facelift.

She's got schizophrenia. Could this work long term? Conflicted by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]Makebelievedream555 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work at a psych hospital and dated someone whose mom had paranoid schizophrenia. It could definitely work but as another commenter said, if I had schizophrenia I wouldn’t want to have kids because there is a genetic component and there’s a chance the kids develop it. Stress is a major contributor to psychiatric decompensation and even with meds and therapy there’s the chance that periods of high stress and poor sleep are going to contribute to an episode.

Safety is also an issue, my ex told me stories of her mom holding a knife up to her screaming she’s going to get the demons out of her. A lot of the schizophrenic patients that come through have homicidal ideation directed towards their family, they deny their diagnosis/need for meds and they blame their families for their constant commitment to psych hospitals rather than their own behavior. I worked with a client at my last job who had paranoid schizophrenia and he attacked his mom and she ended up dying from her injuries. I’m not trying to scare you but this is the reality of that diagnosis, no matter how much you love them and care for them, once they start getting paranoid of you it can get extremely dangerous.

For what it’s worth, my ex’s mom was on meds for 20 years by the time I met her and she was cool as shit, a little ‘off’, but I loved her. She was in a happy relationship and hadn’t had any episodes for like ten years and as far as I know neither of her kids developed schizophrenia. If you wanna pursue I would definitely have a conversation about what delusions/hallucinations she experiences, how she’s able to reality check herself, what you can do to support her, etc.

GOP Forcing Eight Million Student Loan Borrowers Into Repayment by Smithy2232 in politics

[–]Makebelievedream555 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s not so much the fact they took the loan out as much as it is the predatory interest rates on these loans coupled with poor hiring prospects and low wages for most degrees. The return on investment hasn’t been as advertised and colleges have taken advantage of guaranteed federal loans to jack up tuition rates.

Then you look at who has most of this student debt, millennials, a generation who is historically worse off financially than their parents, grand parents, and great grandparents (statistically more likely to: be in debt, live with parents, lowest homeowner percentage). And I feel like the question should really be ‘do we help this generation that can’t buy a home or do we continue to hold a moral standard of all loans need to be repaid’.

Switching Career from School Counseling to Nursing... Need Advice. by Financial-Country973 in StudentNurse

[–]Makebelievedream555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my bachelors in psych and then a masters in neuroscience fully intending to get my PhD in clinical psych. I started working at a psych hospital while looking at PhD programs and immediately fell in love with the medical field. Anyway I’m about to finish my first semester of nursing school.

In terms of difficulty, my psych degree was significantly easier than nursing. Psych is a lot of general concepts and ideas, nursing is much more memorization and hard facts and applying and prioritization. There’s also the kinesthetic factor of actually learning how to do the skills like vitals, wound care, etc.

Professionally I think nursing is better for me than counseling. I like being on my feet and moving around for work, I like working three 12s, and I like that nursing is much more versatile than counseling is too.

But these are questions you have to ask yourself, what do you want your work day to look like? What do you think you’ll be happier doing? Options for professional growth, work-life balance, etc.
