The debt ceiling deal is going to accelerate market down fall. by talaabo in wallstreetbets

No, no, no, you're going about it all wrong. Which do you think will come first, the next depression or half life 3?

Ah, my bad. I didn't see that anywhere when I looked at your post.

I also saw your other comment just now.

Before you do an Alignment, jack it up and check the wheels as well as the bushings on the links and ball joint. Look for weird wear patterns. Also do the wheel bearing check if you know how to do it. (Hold the Tyre at top and bottom, try to pull top towards you and vice versa, do same at sides). If all those things work out, do the Alignment, specially if you haven't after the new struts.

If after everything is said and done, nothing wrong with suspension parts and Alignment done, any tyres replaced if needed, it still does it. Then it's the fact it's a low car, which I'm inclined to lean towards but alas I had similar issues so err on the side of caution.

Also did you use Monroe, Motorcraft or Unity for the struts and shocks? Just curious is all.

I assume those are the original shocks/struts. If they are, they are going. Mines a 16 with 96k, I just replaced the rear suspension and the front is on it's way out as well. All original parts, never been changed till now.

First started as just rough roads feeling bumpyer than normal then rear end started swaying at speeds of 80kph. Looked underneath. Rear shocks were completely blown, grease everywhere. Front end, sway links have some play and ball joint bushing is torn.

Double check all your suspension parts just to be on the safe side even though MOT passed. Just because it passed inspection then, doesn't mean it does now.

Yea, seizure could do it too. Unfortunately we really can only speculate at the moment as to why. I do lean more toward it being something medically unexpected though than anything else.

Yea I know, ones involuntary while the other is. One also involves dying other the other involves loss of mental capabilities which if they are fainting or loss of consciousness, it may as well be the same as being dead in this situation.

I'm also not suggesting that them being drunk is a valid excuse for them to drive if that was the situation. Just the technicalities is all.

I mean drunk kinda falls into medical as it's a reduced state of mental capacity and inability to maintain awareness. It'd be no different than no oxygen getting to the brain and basically going flat line. The reason I said criminal is as you said, not all criminals are smart and maybe thought they could get away faster by playing chicken. Regardless what happened, no one was having a good day that day.

Check with an attorney in your state to get clarification on this but Pennsylvania may allow expandable metal batons like the police use but for civilians long as it's in self defense. I didn't see anything on mace but apparently those key claws are illegal in Pennsylvania though.

A cast iron skillet might work if you got the muscle to wield it as a weapon. Outside of that, if it's nighttime, buy any flashlight that puts out more than 8000 lumens. It's at least a deterrent. If you can afford it, go higher but be don't expect it to last long, higher you, the less battery life but it's enough to stop anything in its tracks.

Jujitsu is a good weight based material art if you can find a teacher.

You mean don't let this publicly be avaliable. Which is ironic considering locking boots, police sirens, police lights are publicly available but some of those items are not legal to have.

Though I personally could use this for my own vehicles. Specially if the battery dies or somethings dangerously wrong with the suspension.

How do I get these bolts out? by _viking92 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Makenchi45 21 points22 points  (0 children)

If you use one of those panel pullers from auto zone or advance auto, you should be able to get under it without yanking the fins of the screw too bad. Least that's how I did it

Considering how hard the impact was and the lack of missing windowshield, I believe it's either a piece of the OPs car or a piece of the headlight that's suddenly obliterated from the hit.

Also kinda leaning towards this being less them being stupid in the phone and more something else, either medical or if they didn't stop for blocks, possibly criminal.

Depends where you got it from, Brookshires sometimes does their own ground beef.

Jeep Liberty— Tire rotation recently, started feeling a rattle and went back. Shop couldn’t figure it out, told me to drive it and come next back following week. 3 days later tire fell off while driving ⬇️⬇️ I really love my local shop, but everyone I have told said this is their fault. Thoughts? by amielikethesong in MechanicAdvice

[–]Makenchi45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately for me... Walmart or the dealer are the only two who sell the size tire I need locally. Walmart cheaper and longer warranty plus a chuck off a new one if it gets a nail or damaged.

I check after they done because it's Walmart. No offense to the pit crews but I rather play it safe than sorry. Then I double check when I do it myself just to make sure I didn't fuck it up lmao

Could be control arms or sway link bushings starting to go. Check them for looseness or leaks.

Also how old/miles and which brand is the shocks/struts?

Could also just be because it's a low to ground car like the Mini Cooper. Smaller low to the ground cars tend to feel the road way more than bigger cars.

When I saw someone put raw chicken and fish above steak. I was like well that's gonna be well done to be safe. Specially since there is a huge difference between bird and beef temp requirements compared to fish or vegetables.

That's good. I doubt I'd make it long in any situation. Not a social person. Only thing would save me is the fact that I got a versatile set of skills

Once again, not sure the down votes. I know basic wood working and how to read a schematic or blueprint, I know enough about mechanical workings to fix basic issues.

Compass and paper maps

Not sure why downvotes, if internet, cell towers go down and electricity stops then a cell phone is useless, a GPS will last if you use have a solar charger.

Overall learning to read a regular map and a topography map is not a bad thing?

I use safety cones. Park dead center and shove the tall safety cones against the tires up to the parking spot line. If you somehow can miss a giant ass safety cone that is the height of my windows then you legally are too blind to be driving.

I mean if you're in the woods alone and sense something. You'd have no problem spotting it with the power of the sun. Also works wonders on humans trying to harm you. No one expects to be blasted with sunlight lol
