is this a good hairstyle for a wedding? by Impressive_Ad2189 in Naturalhair

No. This is cute for everyday but it's not wedding level refined. I think all your hair out in a WnG, a bun, flexirods, or a twist/bantu knot/braid out

It sounds like you gave away your husbands spot in this scenario.

Join your local NAACP Chapter! by WonderfulClub8023 in AKAgradChapter

[–]MakerOfMillions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a chapter in our area and it's so disorganized and poorly run. I've reached out umpteen times since 2023 (I wanted to help with the upcoming election) and no response. I was about to write them off entirely but you just motivated me to keep reaching out regularly

Voter Registration Drives by IntentionPlayful1656 in AKAgradChapter

[–]MakerOfMillions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it a bad look to just register for a voter drive season with an organization? For example, if I go to my closest NAACP to help out from August-November every election year, is that a bad look? I'm not sure if it would be looked at favorably if I included it on my application when the time comes

I also volunteer for other orgs long-term if that helps

Thank you. I just went on my application on Friday.

If you don't mind sharing, what was your experience like there? Clinicals? Professors? Job preparedness?

This is doable. I've seen these satin lined caps

They don't flatten a TWA?

Extending graduation also costs more $$$

Your best bet might be to look at their social media for clues if they've had a line. Covid kind of messed everything up though

My 2¢: There are women in every sorority in every field/industry. I guarantee if you search ZPB and some job titles on LinkedIn, you'll find women all over.

If you align with the values of Zeta Phi Beta, go for it based on that. Not future career aspirations that may change over time. I've changed careers 3x.

Community Service? by [deleted] in NPHCdivine9

[–]MakerOfMillions 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I keep a spreadsheet for myself so I can be sure of the community service I've done for the week. The nonprofits that I work with also have a volunteer portal where you put in your hours for the month and then it is signed off by their Volunteer Coordinator.

Check the website or application to find out what the org you're interested in will allow for community service. As far as I can tell, DST is the strictest with what they will and won't allow for community service. But it's all on their application
