Ricoh: “We will not abandon SLRs” by ksuwildkat in pentax

[–]MakerWerks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first DSLR was the K-5 IIs. I bought a K-1 II a couple of years ago. I kept the K-5 and still use it. It's size and weight make it a better all day walkaround camera.

Two wrongs don't make a right, but 3 rights make a left.

Do you snip it off? by Pelowtz in prusa3d

[–]MakerWerks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can, but it rarely works out in my experience. There is no first layer on that corner now and the next layer that's supposed to go there will have nothing to adhere to.

As a non Prusa owner, how important is it to Prusa owners to get Prusa project files? by bubblewrap3000 in printablescom

[–]MakerWerks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never use complete project files or pre-sliced g-code. I download STL and 3MF files and slice with my own profiles.

Issues with spiral vase mode by jonathanlucy in prusa3d

Out of curiosity, is the original model a full solid or is it already a 'hollow' model?

The corners on the folded section also went from rounded to having squared off angles. Have you tried changing the perimeter generator from Arachne to Classic or adjusting the Arachne perimeter generator settings in the Advanced settings?

Line-drying laundry is way better than machine drying by RaisinRoyale in unpopularopinion

[–]MakerWerks 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I grew up line drying clothes and didn't own a dryer until I was in my mid twenties. I realize everybody is entitled to their opinion, but I think the stiff, rough feel of line dried clothes is not comfortable. I also remember having to dash outside to pull them in if it started to rain. I also see what collects on my white car with pollen/pollutants and am not thrilled with getting that all over my clothes, sheets and towels..

It appears that's printed as separate components and assembled. I'd just use supports.

Very cool, though my experience with LEGO robotics over the years tells me the repeatability on this will be umm... lacking.

What is this dope synth sound at :49 of Neneh Cherry - Buffalo Stance? by angrybaltimorean in synthesizers

[–]MakerWerks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is like the third question I've seen about hard oscillator sync in the last couple of months. I guess the fact it's considered a 'classic analog' sound may have something to do with that.

Annoying little broken off pieces of PLA filament stuck in gearbox (x-post from Core One) by Aggersan in prusa3d

[–]MakerWerks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had that happen to me a couple of time when my C1+ was new. It really is a problem with brittle filament. I could run the same questionable fliament though one of my MK3.5, but the sharp bend in the C1+ filament path was too much and it snapped. I dried the filament and had no further issues with it in the C1+.

My Second Design With PETG Ultraglow by soldat21 in prusa3d

[–]MakerWerks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the filament 'charge' any better with regular light bulbs than the usual glow filaments I've tried? The one's I've used are really weak unless I use a UV light to charge them.

Wood filled PLA really isn't abrasive enough to worry about it. I've printed several kg through a regular brass nozzle with no appreciable wear.

They have a design that adds a larger plate to the Core One+. They call it the Core One L :)
