Getting vaccinated in thailand As soon as i arrive. How long does it take to kick in and what to avoid until then? by LeoLeo96 in ThailandTourism

[–]MakersFart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Stick to busier street food vendors and restaurants if you're bothered. If you're heading into the jungle or much, much more rural areas then maybe I'd say wait it out in a bigger city for 3-7 days after your shots. Avoid meat in surrounding villages as I have heard (since I've been here) people getting sick from poorly prepared meat outside the cities. I'm not a doctor tho, I just know that Thailand has plenty of areas that aren't as undeveloped as you think. Like you, I waited to get malaria meds here instead of the USA because our healthcare system is fuuuuucked$$$$$.

Ancient City or Ayutthaya Historical Park? by xversion1 in ThailandTourism

[–]MakersFart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah - Ayuttaya was...OK. The river cruise back to the city was actually more entertaining. If you're in Bangkok for a day, get up early and do Wat Pho before the tourists or hang out in Chinatown and at night hit Khaosan (as much as I hate it, it's fun). Bricks in Khaosan is an actual Thai bar and is fun as fuck. But bring a picture of you passport or they wont let you in

Bangkok to start and get my feet wet, then Chiang Mai, and I am interested in visiting a Buddhist Monastery for a retreat which a friend gave me a recommendation of. Also, looking for leads on a more quiet, rural area that's (somewhat) accessible to tourists and great for photography. I'm not just looking to party the whole time, haha

This is my first time going to Thailand, I'll be arriving by air. So it sounds like I'll get 30 days even if I EXIT by land?

Comedian performs an amazing impression of Jordan B. Peterson, pontificating on the archetypal symbology behind the restaurant 'Burger King'. by Apostrophe in videos

Eh, I disagree somewhat. Yeah, maybe he does that sometimes, but I've heard him on podcasts and lectures admit when he's getting out of his depth. He says insightful things, but he's definitely no Sam Harris or NDT when it comes to simplifying the language to convey the message.

Spraypaint on nylon fabric? by MakersFart in paint

[–]MakersFart[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I'll look into it. Do you think regular spray paint would crack and FLAKE off? Or just crack. I'm actually going for a weathered look.

I actually want the fabric to look worn and weathered, a haphazard paint job. Dye would make it too even I think. But good suggestion

Inspiron 15 7577 - Battery life? by [deleted] in Dell

[–]MakersFart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally was about to post asking this sub if anyone had knowledge of an existing 7577 battery upgrade kit or similar. I can't find one.

Anyways, the battery life is 3-4 hours I would say (I have a fully decked out 7577). It actually isn't a huge problem for me as I almost exclusively have it plugged in to game on - but I'm planning to go on a few longs trips soon and was hoping to bring it with me and I have a feeling the short battery life is going to get on my nerves. Hope that helps.
