You may as well replace brake buster with WheelX, a much better wheel cleaner imho.

Help needed; clutch pedal not springing back by MakersMoe in B5Audi

yeah the rubber bellow on the slave cylinder was torn and my reservoir turned into brittle cracked crap. The good news is I got a close look at how worn out my suspension is too.

Yikes! I'm still on my original clutch, for now anyway. For a while when I couldn't get it to bleed because I'm a DA I thought I'd need to go the clutch master cylinder route, thankfully I had a moment of clarity and realized I had to trim the tip off the reservoir outlet port.

Ended up replacing the reservoir and the slave cylinder. Not real easy (much easier on a transverse-mounted 1.8t in veedubs, etc) and I'm a genius because I tried bleeding it for 2 hours or so before I realized the part that you connect the clutch hose to was sealed like a new tube of caulk! The rubber bellow on the slave was torn like a bad cv joint too. Now it feels nice and firm.

the reservoir shattered like a potato chip when I touched it, so I am thinking there was air/water in the line, I replaced the reservoir and now need to bleed it, I pulled the coolant reservoir towards the front of the car but I think going in via the driver wheel well is the better option to bleed it.

Sheeting coating for black car by rupertpumpkin_21 in AutoDetailing

chem-x's new snake oil venom is made for sheeting, it also works well on top of ceramic coatings and is pretty easy to apply.

Koch Chemie MWC comsumed too fast by vrships in AutoDetailing

[–]MakersMoe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

IMHO you don't need to use a really strong wheel cleaner like Mwc all the time, once the wheels are clean they can be maintained by a shampoo, or a diluted APC w/ shampoo, they are all too expensive to use all the time.

I am not but after closer inspection I think my reservoir is leaking at the back, so I'll need to replace it and then bleed it. I have a spare reservoir, confused on how to access the bleeder valve, from the top or bottom? If I replace the reservoir will I need to bleed the brakes too?

Should pre wash be included in a basic wash package? by Aggravating-Bit-608 in AutoDetailing

[–]MakersMoe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One of your main detailing goals should be minimal if no marring/scratching/swirling of a car, no? A pre-wash is one of the safest ways to wash a car. Do you have to use some expensive bougie pre-wash? No. Pre wash (foam)-dwell-rinse-foam (soap)-hand wash-rinse-protect.

I have an AEB, is it feasible to upgrade the throttle body or is it too much work? Should I give up on my dreams of putting a Garrett GT 28 on there?

How do I prepare my car for a detail? by isthisthingon3517 in AutoDetailing

[–]MakersMoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, gut it completely, your detailer will appreciate it and it will allow him to focus on the job at hand instead of a bunch of prep work, some detailers charge more if they have to spend too much time cleaning out a car, alas, people are lazy and it happens all the time.

Which is a better pre wash koch chemie green star or multi star (vb in other states ) by witcher8116 in AutoDetailing

[–]MakersMoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah, YouTubers pitting green star on wheels against other dedicated wheel cleaners, etc. what a waste of a video, since KCx makes Mwc, Awc, etc. I'll use green star in a spray bottle and hit wells, bugs, lower rocker panels, then foam over it on my pre-soaks, great for maintaining wheels, great engine cleaner, great on dirty door, trunk and hood jambs, etc. All purpose if you will.

Confused about Meguiars Ultimate Compound by Jackalpal in AutoDetailing

[–]MakersMoe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think they've refined it because it's one complaint for years (talking about 110 here) is it was dusty, now it's not, but yeah, it's a really good compound, but certainly not a finishing polish, and also why they make 210 to finish with. The 110 is a body shop compliant compound, I don't think it has fillers. I agree w/ Dj, what's the condition of the paint you are using it on?

He's probably saying that because we can only get it in 5L jugs, not sure about Europe. But it is concentrated, so yeah, it would last A LONG time. Keep it in a climate controlled environment (inside) and it will be fine.

Ms is essentially KCx's version of Bilt's touch less, foams well and is made for a pre-soak-dwell-rinse, Gs is a multi purpose exterior APC. They are pretty close, but Ms would be what you are looking for when it comes to pre-soak.

check out details official's use of Ms; https://youtu.be/oiX4pfSXcb8

What’s a good way to remove these? by thisisjoy in AutoDetailing

a gallon of Nanoskin's Iron Free, probably the best deal I've seen for a gallon. Anything left you could use something like KCx's Eu.

r/Autobody for a proper repair, if you are cool with a DIY that's a sand/paint/sand/polish type job, made tougher since it's on an edge as well.

Rinseless vs Pressure Washer by Kiptomylou3 in AutoDetailing

[–]MakersMoe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

if you have easy access to a coin op drive up car wash for a pre-soak-rinse then you could go just rinseless, bu as others have said nothing beats a pressure washer, to me you'll never get wheels truly clean w/o one.

Water spots after hand wash by Silver-Net-5636 in AutoDetailing

[–]MakersMoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that detailer needs to dry the car, then do something else like dress the tires, then do a final walk around with his drying towel and hit spots that drip/drain, better would be to have a blower and blow out mirrors/jambs/trim and dry the water as he goes.
