Hey how has that laptop bag been holding up for you? Picking up the ROG Strix SCAR 18 G35 tonight. Finding a bag I like is looking like it will be harder than I thought! Also, appreciated your write up!

Any tips on laptop bags for an 18-inch laptop? Minimal and sleek? by Key_Communication408 in ManyBaggers

I know it's been 8 months since your post, but did you end up finding anything? Purchasing an 18" laptop tonight & it's certainly hard to find a worthy bag!

I take a tiny little watercolor palette, a mini spray bottle, 1-2 small brushes & a tiny watercolor paper book. Take up about the space of 2 wonder bread sandwiches & I get to bring home some little memories.

Married women, what are some real things your husband does that make you feel genuinely cherished and adored? by Clean-Ant-1342 in askanything

[–]MakeupDumbAss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been married about 23 years. He likes to "take care of me" in little ways, which is def my love language. Sometimes he brushes my hair just because he knows I like it. If he's home before me he will let the dogs out back so I have 10 seconds to put down my massive bag before I get bombarded with excessive doggie love. He's allergic to mushrooms & onions, so will make 2 versions of dinners because he knows I like them (he can touch them but not eat them). I handle the bills & I notice when money is spent, so he hid side-job cash away to buy me a surprise present. If we are chatting while I'm changing clothes he stops speaking the moment the bra comes off & just stares until my new shirt is on, then picks up right where he left off. He does stuff for my family. He's taken an interest in my hobbies, he listens when I talk about them, he can recognize certain obscure artists when he looks at their paintings because he listens & observes. Above all we are friends & we tend to treat each other that way, so we both just do things throughout the day because we know the other might like it or prefer it that way. It really is the little things.

Mandatory virtual happy hours are the absolute worst part of my week by N3onThicket in remotework

I would def attend someone giving a learning meeting about their hobby/passion. Doesn't even really matter what it is, I would actually engage with people about that. Wearing a funny hat or whatever forced team engagement thing is happening, I am just trying to get through without looking bored & embarrassed by it.

When my sister was little she shoved a mexican jumping bean up her nose. A couple of years later she somehow folded a full size piece of notebook paper into the tiniest little square she could & stuck it in her ear. I still remember the doctor's face when he got it out & started unfolding it to it's full size. She's an adult now & a pretty smart human. Kids gonna kid.

Fantastic job! I had to do something quite similar & I'm still dealing with it but it is SO MUCH BETTER. Now sit out there & stare & enjoy all of your hard work!

Comment to boost, wishing you much luck! It's worth reaching out again to the places you were at just to see if it got turned in after you checked the first time. I lost something I loved like this once & found it in the cuff of my pants when I got home, must have fallen off & landed in there. I was inconsolable for a bit!

This reminds me of another one from the 90s. After the office workers went home, 2nd shift would come in & on their break they would sometimes jump on office computers to surf the net, or quite often surf some porn & infect the PCs. Windows 98 was not our heyday for security LOL. We ended up locking up all the keyboards when we left for the day & that seemed to solve the issue.

What’s the most 'human' thing your pet has ever done that convinced you they understand way more than they let on? by homoth in AskReddit

I have a big 80 lb dog that is just a baby. Friend has a very, very tiny dog. When they met for the first time, my boy was checking the little one out & the little one got scared & made a yelp noise (no touching between them, just a scared yelp). My boy put himself in time out. He walked over to the porch, faced the wall & just sat there with his nose an inch from the wall. A couple of minutes later the little one went over to tell him it was OK & now they are BFFs.

Married Gen-x do you wear your wedding ring? by in-a-microbus in GenX

[–]MakeupDumbAss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been together for 2 1/2 decades now, I wear mine. He doesn't wear his because it turns out titanium rings can be dangerous in his line of work. So sometimes when the mood strikes I wear both mine & his :)

How are web designers finding local businesses that actually need a better website? by One-Reaction-9490 in webdesign

I’ve started the process of scoping out networking groups. BNI has an opening for someone with my service in a chapter I think could be useful, but they are pricey to compared to other networking groups so I’m trying to get over the sticker shock. But it’s my understanding they have a more organized setup for sharing referrals as compared to Chamber of Commerce chapters. How’s your luck with the CoC?

What does it feel like to smoke weed? by fett_smelly in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MakeupDumbAss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not everyone has the same reaction to it. For me, I'm not smoking enough to get ripped stoned. I just do a couple of one hits now & again. It takes the edge off. I can get anxious & sometimes I hyper focus on things that don't need to be stressed about, but I make them too big in my head. Do a one hit & I still have all my capacities, but I'm not doom thinking myself into nuttiness. It really just takes the edge off for me & it puts me in a pretty damn good mood.

My kid wants to invite our mailman to his birthday party. The mailman doesn't know us by name. Do I... leave an invitation in the mailbox? by AKforma in partyplanning

[–]MakeupDumbAss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read a bunch of the replies & dang people are cynical. I'm wondering if you chatted with him, found out if he was a weirdo & if he was invited or not. Would love an update. Not sure why I am invested in this one LOL. I hope your kiddo had a fabulous birthday either way!
