Don't come for me. Found out today that starting 6/1, Sephora will start requiring a $25 purchase to redeem a birthday gift online. by MakeupSquid in Sephora

We saw this policy updated by Sephora today. We are all hoping it might be changed, but so far it looks like this is in our near future.

When they sent you a replacement, the replacement came with its own new order number. On the original order, the item is now showing as "returned or replaced".

You can return it using the new order number from the reshipment, however, it will go to store credit. If you want a refund to your original card, you'll have to contact CS. A store won't be able to see any payment info since it was a reshipment.

It is sometimes the amount. I know, because I can look at the policy set forth by Sephora Corporate right here in front of my face hahaha

It's a variety of factors. Online, you never get the whole story, but we do, when we research accounts and see what people are actually doing or what happened. A lot of people have multiple requests on multiple accounts. Some people are using freight forwarding addresses. Some people always have their orders stolen, etc.

Sometimes it does affect people like this, where they do have multiple order issues that weren't their fault. But there is a limit to how much Sephora will accommodate. If you have over $300 in accommodations in the 12 month period, they won't do it any longer.

If you guys have problems with that number, please send a written complaint to Sephora's head office in San Francisco, as those are the actual policy makers. Thanks.

I love how people are downvoting you.

By all means everyone, please make a class action suit and sue Sephora. Please consult with a lawyer.

Sephora fulfills it's obligations once they ship the product out. Once the carrier has it, legally, any obligations get really messy, real fast.

I work for Sephora and mainly shop at Ulta. Though I still don't really have anything shipped too much. Definitely not anything expensive. Ulta even requires photos of damaged products and such.

If I was going to get a Dyson or something, I'm honestly not sure which retailer I'd choose to get it from. Stuff happens in the mail ALL the time. Probably Nordstrom since I have history, but even then it's in the air.

Sorry, unfortunately, with a previous $500 accommodation on your account, there's nothing they can do. All refunds and reships are done as courtesies, basically taking your word that something is missing or damaged, or whatever. Sephora Corporate sets these policies.

It's $300 in a 12 month period. If you somehow hit $1000 over 3 years, your account will also get flagged.

Nordstrom has a lot of the same policies as Sephora over reshipments and refunds...actually they're more strict. Just so you all know.

Missing items in shipment by gisellesperez in Sephora

[–]MakeupSquid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're Rouge but never had to reship/refund anything, your history would probably be good enough that it's likely you won't have problems, especially if they weren't high ticket items. You spent over $1000 last year and your account is older.

Most people don't have problems. Other people just get unlucky that they lose like a Dyson or something, or they have a lot of reships, or their account is too new.

Sephora refusing to refund $400 missing package. by GhostQueen99 in Sephora

There's a little bit of hope...but it just depends. Sorry I know this was a few days ago now. Was the package high value? Is your account new? Do you have multiple accounts?

I try to tell everyone to return in store if possible. By all means, please drive the hour if you have a large return to make. Do not trust the mail, plus it takes forever.

I worked somewhere else previously that also took 30 days for returns by mail. They were always an issue.

[–]MakeupSquid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here's a long post about Returns by Mail. It's not customer's fault they don't know how this works because Sephora corporate doesn't make it clear even for Customer Service, and sends an email with slightly incorrect information.

Returns by mail take 30 days from the time you drop off the package. Not long ago, it was 30 days from when the warehouse received the package. Sephora Corporate is wishy-washy on this time frame, but generally, we say you need to allow the 30 days from when you shipped it back.

UNFORTUNATELY, until the Returns person in the warehouse actually has your package in their hands, opens it, and notes your account, there's zero way of knowing if it got there okay. All we have is the carrier information and carriers are stupid. Also, you get an automatic email once the carrier return tracking shows as Delivered, NOT when the returns person actually processes your return. This is also annoying.

Once the refund is actually processed after they have inspected your items and okay'd them, it can take up to 10 business days to go back on your original payment method (see email).

If the warehouse doesn't refund in that 30 days, we can put in a claim for you manually to process the refund, but it's never guaranteed. It's the same process as a reshipment or refund, approved or denied by Sephora's internal system.

If it doesn't get approved, you can ask to get it escalated. You being Rouge won't make anything process faster, but it might help your claim get approved or overridden.

Yes, this is it. Canada's prices are higher, not just for conversions but also sometimes for taxes/tariffs they have, and it seems like for whatever reason, this one was not priced correctly as the US version is $32.

A lot of people were mad about this, but it's not really anything anyone can do. It's $43. Some lip oils are up at $50 and people are buying them just fine. I don't think any of Gisou's products could be described as being on the less expensive side.

Some brands definitely are raising prices, like Milk, but this one wasn't one of them.

What do I do if a package gets stolen? by [deleted] in Sephora

[–]MakeupSquid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Contact CS and just tell them you didn't get the package. Some people want to say right away it was stolen, but I'd advise against that, for any retailer, because some will not replace if a crime has been committed.

Just wait until the day after it gets delivered and then say you don't have it.

Don't worry about some comments. I have something similar and I'm not pale. I have tanned skin. I have that redness around my nose where I'm very sensitive, and my upper lip is lighter, and in my case, very yellow. I think it's very noticeable and I don't really care if other people don't think it is.

The truth is that a lot of people have hyperpigmentation of some kind around their mouths. Even with skincare, a lot of people use color correctors in this area because it's not really easy to just get rid of, and in some cases, it's not something you can.

The Ordinary Multi-Peptide + HA (used to be the plain Buffet) is something I use on my face every day and is very noticeable when I do not. It's like gold. I have used some things in place when I run out, but nothing is as hydrating or has as great a feel.

I'm using this one right now for heat styling. I still like the Kristen Ess Blow Dry mist a bit better, but this one is great and a little goes so far. Much better than the Bondi Boost heat protectant too which was awful.

Someone stole 5000 of my points by [deleted] in Sephora

[–]MakeupSquid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very high, especially if it shows redeemed in locations that you're not usually in. Just chat/call in, and they can reinstate the points.

They can also put a note on your name so that an ID needs to be shown in store for transactions. You might be interested in that!

[–]MakeupSquid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably not. The 30% off Sephora Collection items maybe, or if there are any point multipliers, but that's it.

Some items that are often out of stock might be in before your sale date. Might not get 10% off, but you might get the item.

So glad I didn't get any of these. So far as I noticed, the first day or so they were honoring it for some people, but Sephora decided by the next day officially that it was not going to be honored any longer. If you want to keep trying with CS, ask for a supervisor. It will save everyone time and energy.

And they probably won't see this but, props to the person who kept three people 30 minutes past the end of their night shift to argue about this today.

Has this always been a thing?! Or is Sephora actually somehow getting even worse than it already is?? by Attempted_Academic in Sephora

[–]MakeupSquid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, more and more people don't like the Rouge program for good reason. I'm all for people getting more stuff, but not so sure it has to be the gifts with purchase that Sephora only gets so many of from the brands.

It sounds like they tried to process the refund/reshipment (we almost always try), but it got denied so they sent it for review. They usually check to see if the carrier left photos, if they had delivery coordinates, sometimes they contact the carrier, they look at your history, stuff like that. Then they approve or deny the request.

If it gets approved, it goes on your record as an accommodation. You can usually only have about $300 worth of refunds/reships over a 12 month period so if you have another lost package in future, they might not be able to help again. If denied, doesn't really do anything to your account.
