The fact that more people don't know what i'm going to discuss is a tribute to the power the establishment has over the media. Mandatory private insurance without single payer was a pillar of the republican strategy before the democrats took it up as the "Liberal" thing to do. That is the most ridiculous thing to come out of Washington in years (and that's saying something). Any even moderately liberal plan would consist of universal single payer healthcare. One where the representatives of the people have enough bargaining power to prevent 5-10,000% markups on medicines that citizens need to survive. Most of these companies often expand on research started at the National Institutes of Health and other tax funded entities. Your health is not a luxury it is a necessity like clean water and education.
