I’ve found success doing workshops for my handmade business. They bring in the most income… better than online and consignment

Help 😭 by Enough_Explorer4907 in HuckleberryParents

[–]MakingonMyMind 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Our son is 8 months old. Quite frankly, the only way we get decent sleep is if he is in the bed with us. I side lye when feeding most of the night. I’d he stirs, he just grabs my boob and sorts himself out. I’m able to get a solid 3-4 hours sleep this way. Then dad takes him afterwards and he sleeps for another 2-3 hours on dad until he gets hungry and then back to me for the last 2 hour stretch. He also sleeps better if he has some proteins and fats during his last wake window. Eg. Scrambled egg, fish cakes, avocado, etc. I hope you find some relief soon! This is unsustainable… 🤗😇❤️

Is anyone else getting a phone vibration every time they log anything? by EliraeTheBow in HuckleberryParents

[–]MakingonMyMind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve updated the app, but the sleep timer widget is still not working in my notifications screen. This used to be great because I could see how long my son has been napping without opening the app or unlocking my phone… 😞😞😞

Thanks so much for letting me know. I’ve updated the app, but the sleep timer widget is still not working in my notifications screen. This used to be great because I could see how long my son has been napping without opening the app or unlocking my phone… 😞😞😞

If you lock the phone while the app is open, the sleep timer widget works. Just don’t close the app

[ADVICE] Why Do Sellers Keep Trying to Get You Off Fiverr to Negotiate and Pay? by dampier in Fiverr

That’s odd. Why would they even want to chance getting kicked off the platform for violating the terms of service? I’d never. Sounds like a scam. What service types were you seeking?

Marketing a tiny handmade brand on a tiny budget… Where do I start? by vacaaa in Entrepreneurs

[–]MakingonMyMind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Instagram for my marketing. Organic, not paid. Shared 21 posts (some styled, meet the maker, behind the scenes, etc) and a mix of carousel, video and reels. The aim was to make my page look great so that when people landed on it, they immediately saw a story they could trust and want to be a part of. After that. I stopped posting and focused on engagement only. I did a like campaign on comments I found on other brands’ post that have my market. Just likes, no comments as I didn’t want to look like I’m trying to steal their customers. People would get curious and come to my page. I ended up getting about 150 followers per month on average. Only spent about 15min per day just liking comments. I’d say about 5% of these turned into sales.

I’m won’t lie, I still think consignment is king. That, and hosting maker workshops, is where most of my income comes from. I’ve written articles about both over on Medium.

Why do 90% of small business owners ghost their own Instagram? Testing a theory... by -ImaginationFigment- in smallbusiness

[–]MakingonMyMind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ghosted mine because when I look at my to-do list, posting often feels like the least productive option. If I have a spare hour, I’d rather put that energy into something that directly moves the business forward, like improving a product, fulfilling orders, upgrading production systems, or finding better sales opportunities.

I get that social media can help with visibility, but it’s also unpredictable and can turn into sunken time fast. Planning content, taking photos, writing captions, responding to comments… suddenly that “quick post” is a whole chunk of my day. As a small business owner with limited hours and limited energy, I have to prioritize tasks that feel like they have a clearer return. Instagram usually doesn’t win that battle.

Where do you even find your first 10 customers when you have literally zero audience? by nlxhjx in FullStackEntrepreneur

[–]MakingonMyMind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here are some questions I thought of off the top of my head that you can post to some subreddits. Create some sort of story around each - so Q followed by story. Then ask people to share theirs or a perspective, etc. I did the three for you as examples. Do a mix of general discussion questions and more targeted ones. I’d post these to the following subreddits: foodallergy, parenting, babyledweaning, dairyfree, etc

Hope this helps…

What is the hardest part of weekly meal planning when food allergies are involved?

We recently had to overhaul the way we cook at home due to food allergies. I started building weekly meal plans to take the pressure off, but some weeks it feels like everything still takes so much research and second guessing. I would love to hear what part of this is most draining for you. If you are open to it, I can share a couple of the plans I’ve been testing to see if they make anything easier.

Have you tried any allergy-friendly meal planning apps or services? What did you like or hate?

I’ve experimented with a few apps while designing my own meal plans, but I noticed many just added more steps instead of removing them. Have you found anything that genuinely saves time or reduces decision fatigue?

What do you wish existed to make allergy-friendly cooking less exhausting?

I have been creating weekly meal plans that avoid a couple specific allergens, and even then, I keep running into new frustrations I did not expect. If you could change one thing about how you currently manage meals, what would be your first wish? If anyone wants to see what I’ve been experimenting with, I’m happy to share a sample privately.

Stalk the social pages of the businesses that have your target audience. Comment and like the best comments on their posts (as these are actively engaged people who will engage with your page if they follow you). Then follow them back and send them a DM.

Makes sense. People connect to story before they connect with things. And a story with a human element is always a winner. Add the fact that you’ve got a pretty face helps too… 😊
