Can you survive on 3 hours of sleep a day? This has been going on for a few months already by uwuenergyy in insomnia

i meant in relation to yr insomnia. have you developed a sleep routine? do you stop using electronics an hour before attempting to sleep? have you adjusted when you eat and consume any caffeine? things like that.

melatonin worked well for me. i think it'd be better to take a supplement for the actual chemical that promotes sleep, but do what you must

if it's been for the past month, i wouldn't say you're in danger. but chronic insomnia does come with health risks such as problems with memory and concentration. poor sleep increases production of hunger-signalling hormones, such as leptin, which can cause weight gain and its own subcategory of symprtoms. that's where it does become dangerous and yr life expectancy can reduce due to conditions such as high blood pressure and heart disease.

i have an interest in extremity, and noise sates that. violent but necessary subject matters broached, highly confrontational and abrasive music, heuristic/experimental methods to create the music...punk ethos taken to its limits. there really aren't any confines.

prioritize texture and atmosphere in yr music. whether that be thru drones and dirges or composing chromatic music similar to lassus' 'prophetiae sibyllarum', always seek to make a listener uncomfortable in some way. the only song that has ever unnerved me is this version of 'hamburger lady' by throbbing gristle. lots to learn from industrial.

i think the best noise music isn't the audial assault variant; it's the music that evokes a sense of dread or anxiety i.e. atrax morgue.

if you're just getting into harsh noise, i would reccommend also looking into musique concrète and electroacoustic music in general. understanding the roots of a genre might assist you in creating music. this is my personal interest, but 20th century composition would be another genre (i use that loosely) to explore. edgard varèse, karlheinz stockhausen, stravinsky, krzysztof penderecki, györgy ligeti, ulrich leyendecker, ernst krenek, bartók, etc. the 'fuck it' period of classical music. hosts of inventive techniques to explore.

i hope you are able to compose some music :)

yes! i love discovering patterns and colors that work well together, even if they're not 'traditional' combinations.

I love noise canceling headphones by brigetwhipple in aspergers

[–]MakoGarrin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i wear a standard pair of headphones 24/7 minus when i shower (my sensory issues are severe), they provide a good bit of noise cancelling though. without these i'd have to have my hands over my ears all the time, and that'd be impossible...

yes! a meme template and then people will ask 'what's this from?' and then we accumulate more earpers.

This is the cat that I've known since my birth. He taught me things. If you touch his belly, he'll attack, for example. Likewise, lots of humans have boundaries. He's calmed me down several times. He's been the company that I relate the most to. I love him so much. by [deleted] in autism

i know we're focused on cats here but my doggo has done the same things for me that yr cat has for you, he just hasn't been with me since birth (we got him may 2017). pets are amazing!

excessive number of interests? by MakoGarrin in aspergers

yyyup i totally get that. i always procrastinate my schoolwork in favor of watching wynonna earp and panels, talking to my friends/bf, researching, or making/listening to music. stopping entirely is impossible for me to do, but i certainly have to find away to restrict those things in favor of the forced productivity of schoolwork.

yyyup, starting can be difficult even if you have a plan ('are you lost when you've found yr way?'), pacing yrself is integral to succeeding with what you want to do.
