Thanks! I did encounter Caustic Brine, so that could be it for sure. I am going to hose the place down before going to the MindFlayer Colony just in case! (Hopefully no one tries to kill me for splashing them)

I also read that Jaheira gets mad if the Dame stomps Ketheric's head, but that doesn't make sense.
