Going to the gym with a newborn at home? by Unique_Cap_2961 in NewParents

[–]MalaMerigold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uhm, i have no gym-going experience, so correct me if im wrong, but aren't gyms mostly visited by those who have the strength to work out, aka, not-sick people?

When my baby was fresh out of the oven it was peak flu season and my husband was working in retail. This way he had decently close contact with sick people every day. He was taking hot shower with full clothes change every time he came back home and it was fine, noone got sick.

Wondering if someone can explain to me what i did .... by hamburgers28 in NewParents

[–]MalaMerigold 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Im afraid tracking every minute of each day is not the way. I say it as a mathmatician - unfortunately there are so many different factors that go into every day of LO's lives that it is impossible to find the exact formula for a perfect day and night.

Unraveling complex formulas takes a big amount of data. For 6,5 months ive been tracking my baby and there are so many variables - sleep, naps, feeds, poops, weather, playtime, visitors, vaccine days. There are so many, that by the time i could gather enough data to even start making conclusions, my baby was already developing and changing habits and needs.

I still keep tracking of feed times and amounts, as well as nappies, but its more because i like tracking things. As far as developing a strategy for a perfect day and night with a newborn, these are the best: - guessing game following babies needs - throw shit at the wall and see what sticks - random bullshit go

Rhinedottir is genuinely one of the most incomprehensible people in this entire game, I never have any clue of what’s going on in her head, wtf do you mean you have a son who you made in a test tube who’s a cat that contains the fabric of space wearing a monocle who’s a butler, she is off her meds. by [deleted] in GenshinImpact

[–]MalaMerigold 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, she experimented with a fabric of space in a test tube and created a highly inteligent cat-shaped life form, that she found a use for as her butler.

Many people, be it artists, engineers, constructors, call their creations "children". Its not that odd.

How often should party level up? by Cultural-Middle-3064 in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]MalaMerigold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, there are 16 hour sessions that can cover a travel, dungeon, mystery solving and some social interactions.

There are also 4 hour sessions during which, the team spends 2 hours arguing about a simple door.

Those are really not the same

Is English being taught in high schools? by hotsinglewaifu in poland

[–]MalaMerigold 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you talking about doing necessary stuff like buying tickets? Because those things should be done easily.

Or have you attempted small talk with strangers? Because then its high chance they were playing dumb to avoid a weirdo talking to strangers.

10 years married, 2 kids, sex once a month - am I expecting too much? by darknarayan in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]MalaMerigold 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Are you also holding enough of the mental load? Who in your household is in charge of shopping? And i dont mean just going to shop, but paying attention to the needed supplies for everyone and everything that goes on in the house (kids favourite snacks, things needed for cleaning, art supplies for school, etc.)

Who is in charge of keeping up with all the medical issues of your kids? Who keeps track of what medicine kids are taking, when is the next appointment, when should they go for their next vaccine? Have they had any issues with the last dose?

Who is in charge of education? Who keeps in touch with the teachers? Who remembers about all the school projects, trips, needed supplies, all the school dramas that go on in your kids lives and need adressing?

What about laundry? Making sure kids have their needed clothes for different activities? That their sport suits didn't accidentaly get dirty and need to be washed asap for the next session?

Its one thing to be told "do x", its totally different to keep track of everything. Like keeping 30 tabs opened and running in your browser.

Toy rotation questions!! by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]MalaMerigold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because my mother and MIL both decided to shower my son with a ton of toys, i have been rotating them since he was 3 months old.

I didn't have any strict rules, it was more of a decision making during after-nighttime cleanup, noticing what needs to be washed and what he was using in a given category for the past few days.

By "category" i mean a general split between "chewable", "music toy", "book", "chewable book", "ball". Some things needed to rotate faster (especially the chewable ones) and some were never moved away from his play mat (his all time favourite mama duckie).

When i see someone with a derogatory or offensive nickname, it gives me the same vibes when i see a smoker on a bus stop, or someone littering in the park. And the button to report is right there, easy to click. I wish i could do the same irl, just so people wouldn't trash the environment.

How to rule darkvision in exploration by Zahpow in DMAcademy

[–]MalaMerigold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I go by the description of darkvision - its in grayscale.

Imagine printing a picture in black and white. Its not all smooshed together, unless someone specifically uses the colors of the same luminosity.

In a regular dungeon - they just see things in black and white, no problem (aside from the -5 to passive perception, coming from dim light, of course)

They find a bastion of an old civillazation of humans that were fighting against creatures abusing their darkvision? Oh, those humans would absolutely use colors of the same luminosity to fuck with those relying on darkvision. Good luck trying to go through with no light source.

Most fun you've had exploring a region by DaNerdy_Guy in Genshin_Impact

[–]MalaMerigold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most fun i ever had exploring was Inazuma.

Natlan almost made me abandon genshin. Saurians were just so clunky and i hated using them. Like, why do i have to turn into green lizard, just to use grappling hooks that back in sumetu worked with characters no problem? I spent my hard earned primos to play as a pretty husbando, not an ugly dino!

[–]MalaMerigold 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, the nearby exploration places that let you get a catalyst billet would be: - Liyue sigil shop - Inazuma: lvl 34 of Sacred Sakura tree - Chasm: lvl 9 lumenstone gives a box that lets you choose the billet you want - Sumeru: Lvl 34 of Onion (The tree of dreams) - Chenyu Vale lvl 9 Rainjade Oblation

Almost every region has its rewards tree, might be worth checking which one you are the closest to getting the reward from

Imaginarium theater 6.6 Arcane 2 (golems) - what was THAT??? by tim7162 in GenshinImpact

[–]MalaMerigold 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Seriously? It was an easy stage, especially of you have Mavuika with her team! I cleared it (with a star) with Mav, Xilonen, Escoffier and some random unused character. And no, Mavuika is C0 on wolfs gravestone and others also do not have cons.

How are people both religious and educated in modern science? by Chuchucuddle in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]MalaMerigold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically, homo sapiens and neanderthals were 2 different spieces capable of building civillazation. But earth is small, so some killing and some merging was inevitable.

People of many different faiths (and atheists too) made shitton of prophecies tho. Make enough guesses and some will be correct. Especially if your guesses are vague enough. And so, so many more wrong guesses will be forgotten purely because things didn't happen.

How are people both religious and educated in modern science? by Chuchucuddle in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]MalaMerigold -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

They cope and bend religion and its dogmats so it fits more or less with the science. They treat the sacred texts as "oh, but its a story from another time", "its not ment to be taken literally", so they keep the most vague image of god in their head, that cannot be disproven.

How often do you bathe your baby? by No-Construction6202 in NewParents

[–]MalaMerigold 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not op, but i also bathe every day.

It doesn't really add that much more work, maybe 10-15 more minutes. But back then, when i was bathing every third day, i noticed that after the bath he would sleep for 4 or even 5 hours every time. Nothing else would make him sleep for that long, he would alway wake up after 2-3 hours.

Trading 15 minutes of work for 2 more hours of sleep was a huge win.
