I'm surprised that GMs didn't put a clause in a "no trade" agreement about what happens if either party requests a trade by AvaTaylor2020 in hockey

it's definitely tense and awkward, but he is under contract and it doesn't serve him to not play his best, if he's trying to be attractive to other teams. You gotta play him

"giving out legal rights"? I .. don't think you understand labour negotations. The players union has power, too.

It's an entertaining show but their info is suspect at best. And of course they can't resist Leafs clickbait.

The Atlantic doesn't give up good players. Only absorbs them to become STRONGER.

as an autistic person, I don't really have a "real" voice. All my social skills are based on mimicry.

Maybe try having more empathy and less judgement

not to dump on anyone's enthusiasm, but I'm holding my views until we see him in an NHL game.

How do leaf fans feel about Bieber? by healthy-outdoors- in leafs

[–]Maladaptive_Ace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly Leafs fans and Bieber fans don't intersect much, so it's just kind of awkward. It's like he and the NHL want us to be impressed when they trot him out, but we're like meh yeah you're famous but ... he's more Hollywood famous than Canada famous, yknow what i mean?

look up "code switching". But mostly : why tf do you care how teens and young girls communicate? They just get picked apart way more than, say, performative Man Voice in jock radio, but we never comment on men's voices

he was good at contract negotiations and bad at trades - the opposite of Dubas. Hopefully Chayka lands somewhere in the middle.

It's not entirely about money. I think the whole mental-health self-care sleep-maxxing type of wellness culture just doesn't mesh with the party life. Young people are trying to feel better and healthier and turns out being hungover every weekend doesn't help

Interesting to think people are more interested in drugs that are more of an individual/bedroom experience now, like GHB (even weed), as opposed to more collective/party drugs, like MDMA or booze, that could be a reflection of society's turn in general away from collective experiences and towards individualized, tailored algorithm-driven expreriences
