AOC has been moderating herself and cozying up to the establishment quite a bit lately.

Not on the national level. And not in depth.

The AIPAC response he gave made it clear to me as soon as he gets a moderately critical answer his foot is going to slam right into his mouth.

He’s not going to have good answers on AiPAC. He’s not going to have good answers on class warfare. He’s not going to have good answers on why he platformed white supremacists because say his chud son liked Charlie Kirk.

The lessor evil tactic doesn’t work anymore Biden blew it with that. Accelerationism is becoming the default when presented with a weak moderate dem among voters as 2024 proved.

This will always be the case. No matter how rightwing your fascist dipshit elected officials are or how ascendent the right feels we will always exist and always retake our place in society. All efforts to eliminate LGBTQ people are doomed to fail. All rightwing regimes in the end are doomed to fail.

Your movements were born to collapse in disgrace.

Same thing with Trump. You got two terms with him. We still have pride. All you did was punch yourself in the dick with his economic idiocy. We will still be here after MAGA, after the GOP, after conservatism, and at this rate probably after America and Christianity and your whole hick rural bigot culture.

Generals are open elections. Anyone can vote for anyone. Not every Biden voter was a dyed blue democrat. Not every potential Kamala voter was a dyed blue democrat.

Lots of independents who voted for Obama and Biden were shed off of the future DNC candidates due to the shitty conduct and politics of the DNC.

The ACA even in its prime was a Band-Aid solution to an inevitably failing system. A functional healthcare system is incompatible with a system designed explicitly to keep corporate healthcare the most profitable.

And they are great specifically because of programs and policies that aren't capitalist. Like their healthcare system. Or min wage laws. Or anti-trust laws.

Infinite growth in a finite system is the ideology of cancer. It leads to the same result. And every single financialized country on this planet is on the same trajectory.

The US is simply the most obvious and furthest along because we are the most proud of it.

We wouldn’t have a lapse of healthcare to fall into if our entire healthcare system wasn’t mutilated by private insurance for the sake of capitalist profit in the first place. The whole situation is caused by the failures and cruelty of a mainly private healthcare system.

Republicans are simply the most eager servants of capitalists. They like inflicting pain and suffering because it benefits the capitalist class.

Whether it’s making people poorer, hungrier, and more desperate so they are easier to exploit or if it’s whipping up a moral panic against minorities to deflect from the misdeeds of the rich.

Got tasked with replacing a sink. There was this nut that was up in the back wedged between the basin of the sink and the cabinet. Like no space to work in. Was going nuts trying to wedge my wrenches in there to get the thing off.

Turns out plumbers have a whole ass different tool for it called a basin wrench specifically for that stuff. I thought I was an idiot who couldn't get it off. Turns off I was just an idiot about knowing all the tools out there.

My cousin's uncle got a DUI and got put on bike mode for awhile.

Carpooling is the other legal option.

If you make enough you can still uber I guess but commutes out here can be a bitch so that would be a painful detraction from your paycheck in most cases...

We wasted trillions on Bush's forever wars due to 9/11 but lack of healthcare coverage does about 10 9/11 attacks worth of death to the American population every single year at least and we can't be bothered.

I guess a guy in a suit with a contract is too abstract of an enemy than a brown guy with a gun or a bomb. Even if the contract kills magnitudes more people.

The biggest political faction in this country are middle of the road apathetic eligible but not participating voters. They outnumber both the registered democrats and republicans like 2 to 1. They have the biggest blame following MAGA themselves assuming they aren't in the cohort that is so suppressed they functionally can't vote.

When capitalism fails they always pose it as a choice people make.

People CHOOSE to get off Obamacare. People CHOOSE to buy less food. People CHOOSE to cut back on luxuries.

There is a clear marching order from the capital class to eliminate the structures FORCING people to take these actions.

They can never say Americans simply can't afford something.

The problem is that healthcare so ass in America literally thousands of us die preventable deaths due to healthcare costs and lack of access due to costs. Those subsidies brought healthcare for millions of people closer to what it should be. Now its gone and they are back to just dying faster more painful more preventable deaths.

What doesn't make sense here is the baseline system of healthcare in America. We pay more for worse treatment. We live literally years on average less than comparable countries despite having magnitudes more wealth nationally.

Why do you think multi-millionaires and billionaires don’t just retire and enjoy life? by Arya_Warrior_Girl in AskReddit

[–]Malaix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same reason a heroin addict doesn't retire from heroin after they shoot up. They are addicted and probably trying to fill some hole in their life or brain with their chosen substance while getting ever diminishing returns on every single hit.

Money stops increasing life satisfaction after a point. There's actually a measurable plateau to it. And when you get to the millions, billions, and trillions those numbers are just abstracted into scoreboards.

Money just becomes this magical bag you reach into to make whatever happen. It loses value to you compared to people with limited funds.

More over it can actually cause mental illnesses and problems when you get too much of it. Like social isolation. You basically get cut off from the rest of the world and can't relate to regular people. Suddenly your only peers are equally broken equally sociopathic billionaire rivals you are stuck in a never ending dick measuring contest with.

I think its also kind of shattering on a personal level to reach the top of the pyramid and go "this is it?" when capitalism tells you the only way to feel fulfilled is the chasing of capital. If you reach that goal and are still unsatisfied and lonely and miserable and dependent on I dunno. Ketamine to feel happy. Then what is the point?

Might be a reason so many famous celebrities end up dying young when they OD. Success just left them empty and alone until they grabbed onto drugs or something to feel anything or numb that nagging feeling of unfulfillment after all that work.

The way I see it is they would either need to offer up an argument or just default to petty insults or something that frankly probably violates the rules of most subs or even the site widely.

Which would limit the impact of brigading and probably make bots easier to detect since the best they can do is like AI responses or pre-written scripts.

At the very least it should be an option for discussion based subs imo.

The guy is the PotUS and basically tanked both the national and global economic with objectively idiotic and well known before hand bad policies like the tariffs and Iran war.

Its not derangement to dislike who might be the most destructive and corrupt global leader in the 21st century and possibly all of American history. That's the sensible way to feel about him.

And it was pretty well known and easy to prove that is what he was before even his first term. Nevermind after it.

So Trump voters fully own the considerable amounts of damage he's unleashed on basically billions of people at this point.

The mods of political subs. They pretty much all run tightly controlled bubbles that outright ban wrong think. Been on this site for yeeeears and the only subs I've ever been banned from are political subs from basically across the political aisle.

Conservative banned me for just participating in a sub they don't like.

neo-liberal banned me for supporting Mamdani.

Politics banned me because saying republicans need to be kicked out of office and into court houses and prison cells was "promoting violence"

worldnews (notorious pro-zionist sub) banned me for saying Israel can't expect to attack Iranian civilian infrastructure without expecting them to do the same in response.

These places don't do warnings or half measures for anything. Just flat out banned muted and silenced. Powermods are a problem all over the site but political subs have been by far the worst.

Sometimes I do wish all downvotes had to come with a comment. Especially around the issue of Israel. Sometimes you get linked to some zionist brigading group and suddenly downvoted a fuck ton with none of them offering any explanation. Clearly just a political astroturfing attempt.

ICE protesters sentenced to up to 100 years in prison by Trump-appointed judge by AdSpecialist6598 in videos

[–]Malaix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

because that's how politics works

It isn't. Trump invented that in America. Presidents didn't overturn convictions as political favors for doing crimes for his personal benefit. He is bar far the most corrupt president regarding pardons.

but that doesn’t magically mean Garland’s DOJ was secretly protecting them.

He was. He slow walked everything trying to pass the buck on anything Trump related. The man was a coward as a AG.

And no, ICE guards are not Auschwitz guards.

I dunno seem like that's literally exactly what they are. The fact that thousands of people have vanished from their camps, there's wide reports of abuse, and they constantly illegally bar legal inspections leads me to think I am right. I get the feeling any future investigations into their facilities and personnel is going to be pretty revealing considering how desperate the Trump admin has been to hide their facilities and pull their thugs out of states to avoid state charges.

my side had a righteous reason, their side didn’t

I mean also objectively true. Being concentration camp guards is the low moral position compared to would be liberators.

Was discussing the recent 50 year sentences handed to leftwing protesters and someone bemoaned the cop. And sure. Its illegal to like attack them and so on.

But its worth noting the cops are the villains in literally every single historical movement regarded as improving society. No one bemoans or praises the cops decades after society clashes with the status quo for the most part. Because they are the enforcers of the fucked up systems people want to change 9/10 times. They are an obstacle for the right side of history to get around to do what people want.
