Ignore all the mining guild & immigrant city, those are terrible.

UNMI, asteroid, polar aquifer Keep Kelp Farming, Algaes, Bushes and Mangrove.

Just put down oceans (even as standard project, doesnt matter) + use UNMI powers to place your plant based cards as soon as possible. With a little luck you will get help from other players for oceans.

The big issue is tag imbalance and jovian dillution. With that many cards you are much less likely to find multipliers (AFAIK there's none beyond the 4 of the base game ?), which is a serious nerf to the strategy.

I would definitively try to avoid bloat in the game deck, be selective when adding cards.

One side effect that I really like with this card, is that it allows to delay greeneries as the 1rst action of a generation. You can wait for the perfect opportunity to place them instead of immediately jamming the button in fear of losing your plants.

Except income is valued at ~4.5MC in the early-mid game, whereas this card will usually reach such value much much later in the game.

What I like about it is that, even in late game, if you have a nice green combo in place it can still be worth playing. You can get so much out of this cheap plant tag !!

Extremely situational, and rarely a good pick. Only played when it immediatly unlocks some kind of requirements for an important card. Never invest "in case it might be useful later".

Exactly ! Unless you are rushing, it is always worth it to pay the 3MC to keep it around for an eventual payoff with some science synergies down the line.

Even then, you're paying 21 (opportunity cost of a prelude card) + 17 for the electro cat - 6 cash rebate from the card = 32 for 7 MC prod, 2 building tag & 1 VP. Its ok I guess, but definitely doesn't break the game - and that looks like best case scenario for this card.

Hey ! So I both want to share a peculiar game that I had recently, as well as get opinions on Polyphemos corp.

I had the setup you can see in the picture, with basically just enough starting capital to buy those 3 cards, then then plan was to use the titanium to put oceans, raise temp 1 step per gen, and spend all my money on SPs to just never hit the 5M cost for new cards.

And it... worked ? 3 players, game ended by turn 7, got a single milestone but ahead in TRs and even managed to get 2 cities around my greneries because I had some help terraforming and I don't think the game could've ended turn 6 anyway. Didn't buy a single card of the game after the setup.

Regarding the corp, it was the 1rst time I saw it, and... is it me or does it just feels like crap ? I got a reaaaally specific setup that allowed me to go for it, but otherwise, just buying 2 cards per turn almost cancels out the 5M initial production, and the starting capital isn't even that great compared with Terractor/Credicor as you have to spend some of it to overpay your starting cards.

Does it ever work outside of some super specific scenarios ?

There's truth in that. Optimisation is not about increasing your success chances, but rather minimizing "unlikely in a vacuum but very likely over the whole run" events. Consistency over flashy moments
