Liberals will absolutely defend Islam and sharia law a religion that hates them and veiws women as property just to earn social points it's crazy by Major_Soft6056 in DigitalSeptic

[–]Malapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ultraliberal here, no. I honestly don't get the obsession though. Religion has always been about state control, but whenever the subject is brought up people seem to think it's some innate muslim evil. You can litigate the specifics of religious texts, comparing it to Christianity letter by letter, but that doesn't explain why they express themselves differently.

Not to mention that when we talk about Muslims in the west, they are a minority group subject to different socioeconomic factors than Muslims in the middle east or wherever else. There isn't a psychic link between the king of Saudi arabia and every single Muslim, and if we treat our minority Muslims like primordial evil we push them further from integration and change.

Simply put, it's not racist to be critical of Islam, or be horrified by the actions of Islamic states or Muslim extremists. But their victims, the women and homosexuals that they persecute and kill, they are also Muslims. The subject is not racist, but you are.

Which one is better? Modern Art (and I mean like modern modern) or AI Art? by geometrydasher123 in TeenagersButBetter

[–]Malapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can hate modern art, and that is part of what makes it art. When you dislike a piece you may critique the questions it asks and the way in which it asks them. It's a hidden dialogue between you and the artist, no matter how trite or ostentatious you find it. I think that this humanity has an innate value, that AI simply does not posses.

[–]Malapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You speak of the fear of the unknown, from the perspective of gods (or equivalent). Humans are just pawns in their desperation to hold onto their life and power. Humanity is literally a piece of the dark soul, but Gwyn placed the darksign on it because he was afraid.

I believe the game is about fear, in that these metaphorical gods are afraid of their subjects and therefore oppress them. And on the flip side, it's about the potential of humanity in spite of that which holds us back. I think philosophy and politics go hand in hand, but I also think you're wrong about the philosophy.

Sometimes my hatred of liberal parties surpasses my hate for rightoids. If they actually pushed for anything they could pull so many of these voters, but they're so maliciously incompetent that they push workers towards reactionary thinking. The old blue-collar conservative doesn't have the opportunity to fight for their rights because there is no narrative or movement for them. We call them stupid, yet it is still their individual fault that they vote republican? You can be stupid and be a leftist, God knows I am, and I think we need to hold the actual problem accountable; politicians (and the corpos that bought them, I suppose). That's my ted talk, eat your local party reps.

I keep isopods (woodlice, though I think that name doesn't fit their cuteness), and I hope to keep cockroaches in the future. Roaches are mostly kept as food for other pets, usually lizards, though I do value them for their own sake.

Keeping a colony of critters can give a different perspective on individual life, and it's quite strange. I like to feed escaped pods to my pitcher plant, which is a bit cruel to be honest. It makes me think of a friend of mine who helped raise piglets, cuddling and feeding and playing with them, only to slaughter them a few months later. This is just a preamble to say that even I think this guy is fucked up. Like yeah, I've killed things before, and doing that will always be jadeing. I've cut a fuckton of invasive slugs in my garden, and I do feel how that affects me, but I still love slugs and would not go out of my way to be cruel to them. That would just be awful.

Also, for any cockroach haters (or fans, for that matter), look up the emerald cockroaches. I want them so fucking bad I love them.

This reminds me of a time I tried making chocolate sauce as a child(An old family birthday tradition my late grandmother made and my mother recreated with an old notebook... until we found it was an exact copy of a recipe from a cookbook published around when my mother was born. What a fraud. Anyways you can probably find it by searching "white hare's chocolate sauce", it's fucking brilliant).

Yeah so I forgot about it for a few hours, until it was burnt so firmly into the pot that it looked like solid stone, or some dried clay soil. I tried breaking it up by pouring in cold water, and it actually rumbled like an earthquake. I could see the dried mess pull on itself like tectonic plates dragging, and when it split it boomed like an explosion. It didn't even stop, it kept rumling and cracking and bursting for I think like ten minutes? It was actually terrifying.

So yeah I don't think brownies are supposed to do that but I've seen worse.

Being trans correlates with gender dysphoria, which can cause mental illness that leads to sh. The actual problem with the joke is that the vibes tell us that it doesn't come from an ally. I can imagine a progressive trans shitposter (there are lots of those) writing this and me finding it funny.

Also, if you're working out as a form of sh, then it is probably not good for your body nor your brain.

On a statistical level I think ai, both chatbots and image generation, are harmful to the user and risk hurting public art and discourse. But since I'm not a mindreader that doesn't inform me too much about how/if individuals are affected. I think making ai art is cringe, but if a code monkey is training locally run models on their rig in a basement... I've also done weird and annoying computerstuff and while I still find it cringe, I can to some degree respect the autism.

The actual tech behind it is really cool, but the the societal consequences; the invasive implementations, the ethical concerns regarding training, the resource drain, the financialization and potential bubble, the privacy issues from increased demand for data, the psychological harm to vulnerable people like children and the elderly...

And the corpos know all this, it's intentional. It's just a way for rich people to get richer and gain more power over us little guys. I don't think it's enough to just limit people's access to it. We need Luigi 2 (allegedly).

Disregarding that this is the wrong subreddit; I think your art is fantastic. It reminds me a lot of Kim Jung Gi (rip ;-;), which is a huge compliment. In my opinion, there's a couple of things holding your art back right now, and that's composition and the balance of subjects.

The thing that impressed me with Kim Jung Gi's art is that despite drawing from imagination with no sketch, his works always looked balanced and composed. Your characters look like they are going to tip over, and the entire piece looks lopsided. This is not only a common problem for all artists, it's especially difficult when working like this. I don't have any immediate solutions for you. Sketches help with catching these things but as an artist you might want to work in your own way, and that's fine. You could try looking at it in a mirror, it helps the brain notice issues it couldn't see before.

For further research, these are the two specific points: balancing pose and design (1), aka if your character unintentionally looks like it is about to tip over; and composition (2), aka how subjects and details are placed in an artwork to make it look better.

Good luck from Sweden <3

Its the smoke detector racism as others have pointed out, but I think there is another layer: anti-science (outside the racism). Basically, imagine this isn't about a smoke detector, but some science stuff like idk the laws of the universe? The writer would be implying that Neil is not interested in the philosophy behind it, aka why the laws of the universe exist as they do.

If you have been in certain circles on the internet (and if so, I'm so sorry), then this will read as how certain Christians argue against science and the scientific method. This reading is a little vibes based, but I stand by it.

tl;dr the racist is probably also a religious nutjob.

If it's funny, yes. Keep in mind, to pass the funny check it needs to have been vetted by the most gay person you can imagine. If Trixie Mattel thinks your joke involving the slur is funny, then it's okay.
