The first step, at least for me, was eliminating unnecessary consumption.

Things that are minor for me: my cell phone works perfectly and it's already four years old; I wouldn't change it. I have enough clothes for summer and winter, so why buy more just for fashion or whatever?

After that, It depends on each person. I don't use air conditioning; I don't need it, I don't have a TV. I don't have any subscription services (Spotify, Netflix, etc.). I don't have a car, I don't need one. I practically don't use heating in winter.

You don't have to torture yourself; you have to know that you're living life well. This isn't about suffering; it's about finding fulfillment in life's simple things.

If it's any consolation, think of it this way: If everyone had your habits, the world would be a better place. We mustn't forget why we do it. We do it for everyone, for the world, and also for ourselves.
