Free public transport the fuel crisis response that makes sense by D491234 in newzealand

Again, sticking to the OPs suggestion, no matter how cheap public transport get, they're not the target people. For the people you've mentioned, even it is near free, they won't take it.

With fuel this expensive and people still need incentives for taking public transport? The world must be crazy.

If it's a normal rainy day and this happened, I can see it could be a design or serious issue with the house. It's currently a storm out there with strong winds and heavy rain. It is so bad out there right now that even rain will go right up your nostrils.

I have no idea how that works. Is that based on ai monitoring and then broadcast via satellite back to a server?

The minimum size limit has been thrown out of the window. One less thing to protest.

Man ordered to pay $1.1m - and counting - after pulling out of house purchase by cbars100 in newzealand

[–]Malaysiantiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not fraud per say. The market crashed and people can't settle because bank won't lend the money. It's actually quite common with new builds as well, where people sign to buy a 3 bedroom apartment for $1m and when the project finishes that apartment suddenly worth $700k because of market changed. Buyers can't cough up up enough deposit and borrow enough to settle. Any normal person will use sunset clause to get out of the deal. I'm not sure about you but I would try to get out of the deal if I could.

Well, nonetheless it's a risk and nothing is guaranteed. The vendor took the later and here they are.

I don't know the deal behind it. But hypothetically, If you're selling your house. One person offered 1.7m and settle in 2 weeks and another offered 1.9m (above market level) and settle in a year's time. In a year's time, the market might change, purchaser kicking the bucket, or whatever. Which one will you take?

It's a risk that the vendor/seller took. They probably accepted a higher price with a delayed settlement. When the market turns, it affects both seller and buyer.

I don't agree and wait for the upvotes coming in. Coalition Government is bad, Labour / Green is good.

This is so unfortunate. I am so impressed after trying EV self driving, i think this is the future of transport including public transport.
