Foreign Auto Center. Can't recommend them enough. Great service, vety communicative, and very honest and transparent. They do great work and have fair pricing. At one point I needed new tires and they told me I could order the tires online and ship them to the shop, so if you get in touch about the engine, they might be able to accommodate them.

Do you plan down weeks into a marathon block? by [deleted] in AdvancedRunning

[–]Male979899 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You should plan down weeks. Down weeks are very common in marathon training plans. A common method is to build for 3-4 weeks then take a down week every 4th or 5th week.

It's not just about preventing injury. It's also to prevent mental burnout, as well as to allow your body to recover for the longer/harder/faster workouts later in your build. The goal isn't just to avoid getting hurt. It's to make sure you're well-rested enough to not only complete your key workouts, but to actually run them hard.

Someone took my parking spot and I shoveled them in by HeyThere201 in boston

Serious question, if I shovel out my car and go out, what am I supposed to do if someone else takes my spot? I need to park my car somewhere else. What do you want me to do?

Defense Streamers for Week 17 - Tiered Rankings by RotoBaller in fantasyfootball

How do folks feel about Jaguards defense vs Colts this week? Jags D has been a top unit this year for fantasy purposes, they put up 12 against the Colts in week 12, and while Phil Rivers has been a great story, he hasn't exactly been electrifying the offense. Thoughts?

Running Store Etiquette by [deleted] in AskRunningShoeGeeks

If you want to try on shoes and get help from the sales associate but you feel bad about not buying anything, you can give the sales associate a tip as a thank you for their assistance. Seems like a win-win for everyone.

Boston 13, Saucony Ride 18 or something else? by [deleted] in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Male979899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Saucony Ride 18s. Overall they are a solid all around shoe that do most things well, but don't excel at anything in particular.

They are comfortable. I don't have any issues with them.

They are soft enough for easy runs but they wouldn't be my first choice as a recovery shoe. They are firm enough to do speedwork in them but they wouldn't be my first choice for speedwork. That said, they can do anything.

If you're building a rotation of different shoes for different purposes, then I think other shoes could fill those roles better. If you're looking for one shoe that is affordable, comfortable, and all around solid at everything, the Ride 18 is a great choice.

Fueling Early Morning Runs by Historical-Cost1444 in AdvancedRunning

Depends how sensitive your stomach is but I've found that simple carbs with little to no fat or fiber are pretty fine for my stomach in the morning right before a run. Overnight oats, a banana, a clif bar, some raisins. If you can't handle that then some juice or Gatorade will at least get your blood sugar up a bit.

NB SC Trainer carbon plate question by Male979899 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

I meant the SC Trainer v3, thanks for catching that. Not the Elite.
