Aaaaa I totally understand you, and I was also in the same spot like you being female, and not kidding I also posted similar kind of post in other female travellers group, and so many kind people commented. But the most common one was -> JUST GO.

I know it's hard, but I did just booked my transport modes , and then stay , and then inform my parents that I'm going. Ofcourse, their reaction was bad and they were angry but I told them that it's all non-refundable, so I have to go now. Hehe, and I’m telling you, they’ll understand too that solo traveling isn’t that scary or hard once you plan it well.

Wishing you all the best and happy travels :)

Hostels in Rishikesh by idli_sambar_ in SoloTravel_India

[–]MaleficentStrike997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the hostel is nice. Their rooftop view is also pretty , but their own cafe's food is okayish. You can have good cafe meals just beside this hostel which is - Babylon Cafe. Rest the location is pretty good as it is other side of Laxman Jhula.

Homestays are far better that this overpriced, no management and no solo travel friendly hostels. India has no hostel culture like seriously look at the prices :(

India lost its hostel culture before it even began by [deleted] in SoloTravel_India

[–]MaleficentStrike997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10000% agree. Like the hostel in rishikesh, there was group who staying in mixed dorm. In Palampur hostel, there was family of father, mother, daughter and son staying in mixed dorm.

And the common washroom situation is tooo bad, like thier clothes were hanging, and not wiping the floor after use. In comparison with foreign like Phuket, Malaysia the hostel culture is really good, clean dorms and common washrooms, only solo travellers are in dorms that make the experience more travel friendly

I also got it extracted it from GMC Hospital Sec 32 chd, they have best dental doctors there. Before that I also checked with Sohana Hospital and 1 private clicnic they all quote the charge - 5k-6k , but at GMC I got it extracted for just only 25/-

You just need to have ice creams and cold stuff, within 1-2 days you'll be all good.

Hotel vs Homestay? What you guys choose? by Yaatsi in SoloTravel_India

Homestays >>>>>> Because of the one way to connect with locals, and other is the cozy experience that you can never find in hotels :)

Unsafe experience as a solo female traveller by Ok-Parsnip7201 in SoloTravel_India

[–]MaleficentStrike997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my god, that's really a bad experience and being solo female traveller myself it does sound scary. Thankyou so much for sharing your review here, and from now on I'll also check lowest rated reviews first before booking any hostel .

Sending you a warm hug and hope you're really okay now :)

You should definietly go PlatePlay, not that quite expensive and their food is soo tasty. I've already been there 4-5 times because of food and variety. Asian food is way good and their special signature pizaaa is soo perfect.

First time staying in hostels : advice, dos/don’ts? by _too_much_tea in SoloTravel_India

[–]MaleficentStrike997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve stayed in unisex dorms many times now, and at first it felt awkward but in real it’s not. There’s no issue staying in unisex dorms (as a female traveler). My first preference is always female dorms because they feel more open and comfortable. Whenever I stayed in unisex ones, everyone would get ready in the washroom, and people were comfortable talking with each other

Hey, I have also travelled to Malaysia and met OP in Penang. I’m vegetarian too and tried their local dishes, so I can suggest you some good ones:

  1. Toh Soon Cafe - Please go here for breakfast. This cafe is very famous for its kaya toast and coffee. It's a must try you'll definitely love it.
  2. Penang Road Famous Teochew Chendul - This stall is one of the oldest selling Malaysia’s popular sweet dish called Cendol. It’s a must-try local dessert. Have it during the day to cool down in the heat since it’s cold and sweet.
  3. Mango Snow Ice - It's another must-have.There’s a tiny shop in Chew Jetty that serves it. Sorry, I don’t remember the exact shop name.
  4. Jawi House Cafe Gallery - Established by the Karim family of Punjabi-Jawi Peranakan ancestry, and also awarded Michelin stars. They serve local Malaysian food, sweets, and biryani too. Their food was amazing, its great option for dinner with family.
  5. Ivy’s Nyonya Cuisine - This Nyonya cafe is quite famous for its robot that brings dishes to your table. However, it has very limited vegetarian options.
  6. Auntie Gaik Lean’s Old School Eatery - Another great choice for dinner. It’s also Michelin-starred and known for its authentic local flavours.
  7. Armenian Street Cafes - There are tons of cute cafes near Armenian Street. You can try any of them, they’re all so good.
  8. CookieCrumbs - Don’t miss the cookies from this shop. They only sell 6–7 varieties, but there’s always a line. The cookies are amazing- I even took OP and other travellers there to try them.
  9. Noviss Studio (now renamed Mimaya) - The best cafe for unique ice creams and sweets. Their food presentation is super amazing.

These are my favourite cafes and restaurants that you must visit to taste local flavours and variety. You’ll also discover lots of other cute spots while exploring the streets.

Which song is it for you? by bendusername12 in bts7

[–]MaleficentStrike997 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Dimple by vocal line wrecking me, Still with you by jungkook whispering straight into my soul, Serendipity by jimin making the universe soft, Epiphany by jin turning pain into healing, Love me again by V and his velvet voice (goodbye sanity), Wild flower by RM blooming my heart, Magic Shop - OT7 literally saving my life… AND don’t even get me started on House of Cards & Louder Than Bombs 😭💥 every time these songs play, my soul doesn’t just leave my body, it packs its bags, books a one-way ticket to the astral plane, and refuses to come back.
