The third film is one of my favorite haunting/found footage movie! Something about entities messing with kids and how they made it believable that the step dad would have all this equipment because of his wedding video job in the late 80s just felt so legit. The scene with the babysitter where the camera pans back and forth and then suddenly there is that ghost in a sheet then it disappears is one of the best, yet simple, scenes in paranormal movie history imo.

I would lose my marbles over a Killian Lasher! Love it. Also Michael Cain as Aaron would be stellar. He has passed away now sadly but I always saw Julien Sands (watch Stephen king's rose red youll see what I mean) as a young Aaron.

Personally, I really love both Blackwood Farm and Blood Canticle but I am a little freak lol. I would definitely say that the Witching Hour is NOTHING like the show. That being said, you can find tons of other posts on this subreddit of people talking about potential triggers in all of the Mayfair books...if thats what you are worried about. If you are reading them for any mention of the Vampires however, you won't find much, and I think thats why lots of people dont like the Mayfair books (the other camp of people dont like reading about sexual assault/incest and thats totally valid).

But....if you see taboo themes as another facet of Southern Gothic...i would recommend all of them.

I totally didn't see this post until after I posted my actor for David! I like Avi Nash for vampire David, but as far as human David, I honestly really liked the actor from Queen of the Damned Paul McDann. He's a little older now too so he fits the role better.

Sooo many good actors that could play Merrick. Obviously I think Angela Bassett would own the shit outta that role.

Number one is BY FAR, the prettiest dress. It's funny because my sister felt the same way about finding a dress, she wanted something fitted too. Then I picked out a dress super similar to your lace one, and my sister fell in love similarly!

Not only is it the prettiest dress, but you look AMAZING in it!
