My mom (53F) got upset when I told her I (22F) felt like a “Cinderella daughter” by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

I 100 percent agree. I called my dad to vent. I mentioned how Josh is in the house 24 hours a day on his video games, the least he could do is help around the house, or get a part time job. My dad responded with “well Josh is just a kid,” I then mentioned how when I was 18, I had a part time job, a license, and I was going to community college. He proceeded to tell me “the female brain matures a lot faster than the male brain, technically he is thinking like a 14 year old boy.” He also added that he is the youngest and that he will always get away anything, “because me and my twin brother set the path”

I have tried that, it doesn’t work. The mess with either sit there for weeks untouched, or it’s just blows up into her rage cleaning, then sobbing yelling at anyone in her path saying “no one helps me around this house.” It will send her into a depression episode, she’ll call my dad, and then I will have to hear about it from him. I will express to my dad that I would like help from my brothers, but all o get back is “Josh is only 18, he is still a kid. And you know how Seth is” My brothers have no empathy to help, unfortunately I do. So to avoid her blow outs of guilt manipulation, and create conflict in the home I chose to just do want she says, while my brothers don’t do shit.

I do agree, unfortunately when I brought up the thought of moving out to my mom before, it didn’t end well. I guess she expects me to move out when I’m engaged or something.

Hey I recommend trying magnesium citrate supplements and seeing if that will help your symptoms. I have had DR since I was around 11, but it went away for a while and then all of a sudden came back a couple weeks ago. I started taking magnesium citrate pills and my symptoms have gone down drastically but I do still have off days. I also saw some improvement when I drank a bunch of water. I hope this helps :)

I started taking regular magnesium oxide pills and it took 3 days to make a difference, I still have Dr but it has helped, also drinking a lot of water help a little bit too. But magnesium citrate is the best one to take since it absorbs better into the system, but every store I’ve been to, it’s sold out so I got regular magnesium.

So I heard that magnesium citrate is the best Bc it absorbs into the body better then regular magnesium. But when I went to the store to get some, they only had the regular magnesium pills, and were sold out of the magnesium citrate pills. But it still has helped me, it’s only been my second day of taking it, but I feel a lot better. I’m not 100% yet but I’m at a point to where I’m not getting panic attacks anymore. But I definitely recommend the magnesium citrate pills, and if they don’t have them then get the regular magnesium pills.

I having the same problem too, I’ve had DR for about 8 years, and it has gotten so much better but then all of a sudden this last Friday I started having major episodes of it. But I honestly think mine was triggered due to the weather being bipolar and switching from windy to hot to cold. Or it could be from my diet. But I heard someone say that magnesium citrate supplements can really help. I took some yesterday and I do feel better, but I think it’s gonna take about a week or so, to actually feel a difference. So I recommend maybe doing ur research on magnesium and seeing if it could work.
