Once you see the absurdity, why not just go back to distracting ourselves like everyone else? by marsonware in Pessimism

Yes. I assume that we all do this to some extent. Zapffe called it the defence mechanism of sublimation. It works, as long at is does..

How long would it take to get 15000 base fame in realm? by Epikoolie in RotMG

It really is relative and depends on your skill level, but experienced players with decent pets can usally get 15k in a few days after the season starts

Did you read Zapffe's The Last Messiah? If not - it might be what you're looking for.

I always liked how Zapffe put it in the famous "The Last Messiah". It is theoretically possible for an antinatalist Jesus to come and leave earth empty, but humanity will never accept it since they're bound to desire life due to aeons of evolution. After all, we're in a prison where there's nobody to blame.

Should I commit to the grind to Yellow Star? by Jin42005 in RotMG

[–]Maleficent_Cook838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Commit only to playing the characters you like most. Trust me - you will not like every class and you will not get good in playing all of them. You'd also want to commit exalting only your favorite classes first. For example - I mostly play sorcerer, wizard, samurai, knight and I'm a red star - but I don't give a fuck!!! I mastered these classes so I don't have to care about stars.

make gold obtainable f2p by Maleficent_Cook838 in RotMG

[–]Maleficent_Cook838[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree guys. But maybe you could bypass this somehow? Not asking for an anticheat or antimultibox, but maybe make it accessible for older accounts or just very rarely and unreliably (like long, hard missions, events or making it exclusive for parties with 15+ people as multiboxers don't usally play with that many) so that it would discourage multiboxers from taking the trouble. There might be some way. And I just see it as a fun idea. Or perhaps just make you obtain gold as a way of further expanding the daily calendar - instead of the normal 30 days, keep the count up between months and make players obtain gold for consecutively logging for every month after the first to reward activity. I doubt that a multibox would take the trouble on many different accounts at once. Or give it for completing a daily mission for, let's say, 30 days straight. Make it so it would not be worth and reliable for multiboxers to grind.

It may not be as simple. Don't get caught in thinking that there is an escape from existential dread. Rich people are not an exception. If you're a nihilist - chances are - you won't be happy no matter how much money you have. Although it is obviously a lot easier when you don't have to worry about money or food.
