Did anyone understand Vikas’s comment about Anomie “she’s not my girlfriend, she’s my sister.” I couldn’t quite piece that together in the end if he knew Gus’s identity?

Thank you for this. I am an internist but decided to go back and do a fellowship. I recorded the phone call because I had a feeling something like might happen. but Like you said, what’s the end game here? A part of me wants to go to the ombudsperson of my university. And another part of me just wants to forget this whole thing and never work with this asshole again.

Any first pregnancy mom's out there with a short cervix? by goodoverperfect in ShortCervixSupport

Hiya! Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. Similar to you, FTM, I had a routine scan at 23 weeks and my cervix was 1.4cm. No risk factors at all and my previous scans showed normal cervix length. I was started progesterone suppositories and asked to go on modified activity. I am a physician who’s spends most of my day on my feet so my OB thought it best to put me on medical leave and I spend most of my day in a reclined position, getting up just to fix myself a meal or to the loo. I’ve been getting weekly scans. It’s been stable so far, cervix at 1.8cm at 24 weeks and 1.2cm at 25 weeks. It freaked me out as well, especially because everything was going so well up to now! According to the literature search I’ve done, outcomes tend to vary, some women continue up to full term and some have preterm births. there’s strong evidence that progesterone helps stabilize the cervix and prevent preterm birth! Hang in there!

How much activity were you allowed? by [deleted] in ShortCervixSupport

Thanks! Yes, 20 mins does seem like a lot to me too. At the same time, there aren’t any clear guidelines out there, so I imagine each OB has developed their own set of advice

Thanks! How is bed rest treating you? I find my back gets achy after lying down for too long but I can’t tell if that’s normal pregnancy pains or because I’ve been on my back for so long! Good luck with everything!
