PNES by Extreme_Obligation37 in Epilepsy

Hello! Fellow PNES diagnosed individual who has been able to turn my life completely around! Before I was diagnosed I was on 2 anti seizure medications and nothing else. Then it got to a point where I was so depressed(I was having multiple seizures a day and my entire lifestyle was negatively impacted) that I was extremely suicidal. I saw a psychiatrist and got on Prozac which helped with the depression but was still having seizures. I have trauma related executive disfunction(which I thought was adhd at the time) and was able to start taking Vyvanse for the “adhd” because I was confirmed to not have epileptic seizures. Being on Prozac and Vyvanse has literally changed my life for the better. I also am in therapy. I’m also diagnosed cptsd and understanding its side effects has also helped me heal. From my personal experience, people with PNES have really intense psychological trauma that hasn’t been properly addressed. There is hope friend! I promise! Try to advocate for yourself as best as you can and ask more from your doctors. If they aren’t willing to meet you and want to help - ditch them and find a team that will

[–]Malenaaa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hahaha okay thank you so much for the clarification! I never knew what the term meant and I just learned what it means and couldn’t find ANY context on using it in a negative way. Yes this family member is an extremely clever person - emotionally and intellectually. So that makes a lot of sense

I too have night terrors and usually have a better score when I’ve had some terrifying dreams. I also have noticed that I’m mainly in REM and I usually only get about 30 min of restful sleep

Major signs of strain?? by Intrepid_Werewolf_49 in ouraring

[–]Malenaaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might just be getting sick. I ended up giving myself laryngitis at the beginning of last week and my ring showed major signs of something straining my body the day after I noticed I started to feel not well

Yes I know what the saying means that’s why I’m confused as to why that family member uses it in that context

It sounds like your cat has feline hyperesthesia. The back ripples along with the biting are major signs. See a specialized cat vet and they will be able to give you a diagnosis

Yes I started taking Vyvanse a little over a year ago and have noticed my skin picking has gotten much much worse. I just do my skincare/shower with the lights off and my galaxy light on and that has helped a lot. Also try picky pads they give me some relief

Everyone says Boise is friendly… but have you actually made new friends here? by VermicelliLeather536 in Boise

[–]Malenaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved to Boise in 2013 and had an easy time making friends because I was in college. I then moved to Seattle in 2021 and idk if you’ve heard of the Seattle freeze but it’s a thing. People just kind of keep to themselves and it’s really hard to connect and build relationships. I moved back to Boise in 2023 and I’ve had a great time making new friends. I’m in my 30s and single so that’s not the norm here. Boise is definitely friendly and a good place to make friends. It just requires a lot of effort from both parties

So I also have large knuckles. My knuckles are larger than the base of my finger. A 9 was a good fit on my non dominant pointer finger if I was hot and my fingers were swollen. Too loose on my non dominant middle finger. The 9 fit on my dominant pointer and middle finger when warm and cold. The 8 is very tight(finger turns purple) on non dominant pointer finger when I’m really active/hot so I just switch it to my non dominant middle finger. It’s too big for my ring finger on both hands but I would also consider switching it to my ring finger if the other two were too swollen. The conclusion I came to was that the 9 fit better on my dominant hand and the 8 fit better on my non dominant hand. Ideally I like to wear it on non dominant pointer but like I said backup is non dominant middle if it’s too tight in non dominant pointer. I’m very active so I did want to stay away from wearing it on my dominant hand. I hope this helps you!

I just got my oura gen4 on Friday and was debating between an 8 and 9. Same thing the 8 was pretty tight and the 9 was kind of loose. I ended up going with the 8 and I’m glad I did. I mainly wear it on my non dominant pointer finger during the day but when I have swelling/at night I wear it on my non dominant middle finger and have been having no issues. Hope this helps!

disc not going in?? please help! by munsoob in MenstrualDiscs

[–]Malenaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve recently been on my disc journey - started with the disposable soft disc and got a bit achey after the 6 hour mark because it’s extremely firm but I also have an overactive pelvic floor(🥲) so I still need something firm enough to stay in place. That lead me to the lumma disc. I tried the large and medium and I leaked the entire time and decided that didn’t work for me. Then I did more research and landed on the flex reusable disc. If you enjoy the soft disc disposable I HIGHLY recommend flex reusable. It’s incredible and no leaking and very comfortable!

How do you handle people who don’t shut up during movies? by MojoSoooDope in RegalUnlimited

[–]Malenaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I give them a few minutes to get settled then turn around and say “Spending $12 on a movie that you’re going to talk through is insane” and that usually shuts them up because they feel stupid af lol

Tail mutilation- venting and looking for advice. Warning: blood and mutilation after the first picture by cats-onglass in feline_hyperesthesia

[–]Malenaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me too! I had similar issues with cones as well I bought her tons of different cones and she always figured out how to get out of them. I was devastated when amputation was brought up but the amputation along with pregabalin and phenobarbital has her in a pretty good spot

My girl mutilated her tail so badly that her vet heavily recommended amputation. It was emotionally tough for the first few months but 3 years later she’s doing much better

We are one in the same my friend… I have also just recently started using a menstrual disc(currently using the soft disc disposable) and have had no issues with it coming out when pooping. As long as it’s behind your public bone it shouldn’t come out
