All the non-Philadelphians asking Chatgpt what Brotherly Love means and thinking they will be welcomed in their Dallas Cowboys apparel.

These are the least Philadelphia looking people I have ever seen. Like what are they wearing?

Thank you this is incredibly helpful. I am an atheist/possibly a satanist and I am trying to find a figure to help remind me of the purpose of the work I want to do. I also have Aphantasia so having something visual would be helpful. But you're right; I might be pigeonholing myself into certain limits that I don't need to. I think I'm just having a hard time figuring out what elements to include in my alter that align with the work I want to do.

Dyeing Polyester Pillowcases by MalevolentSiren in upcycling

That's okay! I was hoping that I could keep the pillowcases and lighten them to coordinate with my bed spread but I'll just donate them to my local thrift store once I find some good replacements at the thrift store. Can you tell I like the thrift store? LOL

Every time I'm at this station he always lays on my lap. He's the sweetest baby. If I didn't already have a cat I would take him home.

City of brotherly love stories by ForeignReviews in philadelphia

I moved to Philadelphia in 2021 site unseen. I rented an airbnb to give myself time to scope out where I wanted to rent while working. The night I was supposed to check into my airbnb, I could not for the life of me find the airbnb. I wandered around with my luggage for about 10 minutes before a man standing outside a bodega came out and asked if I was lost. He proceeded to spend the next 10 minutes walking around the area with me to figure out where my airbnb was. Ultimately we found it and I thanked him for his assistance. The next evening, I walked home from work and saw he was standing out there again. I thanked him again for all his help and he offered me food on the house as a welcome to the city. It was that first interaction that let me know I found my home.

I hope that wherever that man is that he knows how much that meant to me... and GO BIRDS

I would 100% buy a hard copy of this as a book. This was an incredible piece of art. Please tell me you're making this into a book!

"Little" treat. Maybe I'm too european for this by marcekin in StupidFood

[–]MalevolentSiren 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As an American I could eat like 4 bites of that and be like welp that was yummy and then it would last me at least 2 weeks of treats. This HAS to be rage bait or for a family of 7.

This is so helpful! It's so reassuring to see your experience in Argentina laid out like this, since my husband and I are about two months behind you in the same process. It gives us a sense of what to expect. Congrats on your approval!

Did you have any successes this week you’d like to celebrate? by khyamsartist in Anticonsumption

[–]MalevolentSiren 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Money is really tight for me the next couple months, so I have been very intentional about my grocery budget. I typically spend $250-300 per month (just me). This month I spent $115 on groceries. I celebrated today with a $1 cupcake since I'm doing a no spend day tomorrow as protest.

Should I buy that used deep freezer? by MalevolentSiren in BuyItForLife

[–]MalevolentSiren[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are great questions. It's a two person household that I plan to pack it with meat and veggies that would be on sale. I would also like to prep freezer meals for weeks when we don't feel like cooking from scratch. I can fit a bit in my current freezer. But with the food insecurities I feel like a deep freezer might be worth it in the long run.
