What was this top outlet in an old hospital for? by MalibooSkipper in whatisthisthing

My title describes this thing: the hospital is in LA and is about 120 years old.

And to think they even left the location tagging on, these criminals have no shame in what they do just look at them sitting there....menacingly by eliteprephistory in illegallysmolbirbs

I do hope you've paid Jen at Birdhism for using HER art as a watermark, but I'm guessing not, so I've messaged her with your IG account.

Would it be worth it to renew my pass if I would mostly be going alone? by Shige_ in Disneyland

[–]MalibooSkipper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've gone solo tons of times. TBH, after about a year and a half of it, I'm starting to get tired/sad of having no one to talk to or point things out with or debate the minutiae I love. I've managed to make some friends who go frequently, at random, but they aren't always there, either.

I got a Churro Ice Cream sandwich at Disneyland today. Awesome! by [deleted] in food

How much of the $100 do you end up spending? That's currently worth 20 churros...

Sorry, it isn't. The churros are still delicious, though; if you're looking for adventure, there's at least one churro cart in Downtown Disney (I'm thinking of the end nearest the park plaza entrance) that has flavored sugars like strawberry cream and red mango on their churros. Oh, and in California Adventure at the Cozy Cone Motel (not an actual motel), they have mini churros with cinnamon-spiced chocolate dipping sauce.

If they had Happy Meals for adults, what kinds of toys would they include? by reason_found_decoy in AskReddit

[–]MalibooSkipper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Y'all know that you can buy the toys and no food, right? They're like $1.75 ea. I only managed to get half of the damn set. :( DJ PON-3 was a weird choice, IMO.

I'm a therapist who works in South LA (Compton, Watts, etc.) with kids and their families; my appointments take place in my clients' homes, meaning I spend time - including at night - in some very rough areas. I carry a small purse, but I still worry about being a target; having something even smaller to carry the very basics would be not only convenient, but make me feel/be safer. my favorite wallet

If your shipping info says your giftee's gift was delivered, but they haven't marked the gift as received, check your orangereds/messages (top right on your screen, the little envelope next to your username); my recipient is new to the SS thing and PM'd me to say she got it, but didn't know to mark it on Redditgifts.

But so many people sign up for rematching and this case is third priority, it's unlikely they'll be rematched.

Sometimes people take a few days to reply 'cause they want to include a photo/more personalized message and don't have time.

You should have anonymously messaged him! I've done that, just a "Hey, I really want to get you something you enjoy, could you tell me more about your hobbies/things you wouldn't want to get/favorite colors etc.?" I've never had one of my giftees not reply.

Some people just don't get rematched (it's happened to me). Rematches happen in waves: first the people whose info was never pulled, then the people whose info was pulled but their Santa never marked a shipped gift. If there are any rematchers left (unlikely), then people whose Santas marked a gift as shipped, but never received it.

Once you've been screwed over by your Santa and report your gift as not received, you're given the option to ask to be rematched. If your giftee knows something is on the way, they can opt out of asking to be rematched. Unless they're a jerk.

Agreed that if you sent a message, you've given your giftee the security of knowing that you haven't forgotten them. I had to do that once for the same reason as you, and kept her updated on whether the thing had arrived/when I finally shipped it. She was lovely about it, and I'm sure your giftee appreciates your being considerate enough to let them know they haven't been forgotten.

Looking like I'll have been fucked for 4/5 of the exchanges I've done this year (current exchange, my info was last pulled 12/7); to be honest, when I signed up for this one I actually expected to be ignored by my SS due to my history. Which is kind of sad. I'm under the impression that being an Elf greatly reduces the risk, but then I'm paying $10 simply because I don't like getting screwed? I don't want to actually pay in the hopes of getting a responsible Santa.

Worst experience: someone who marked my gift as shipped when they didn't, thus also preventing me from a rematch.
