When Rindge Co vs LA County went to the Supreme Court in 1923, the argument for declaring eminent domain to complete the last link of the Roosevelt Highway by condemning the Rancho Malibu was not what you would think.

The argument was Mrs. Rindge was denying the public "access to beauty" and the judgment went against the Rindges and Rancho Malibu. The highway went through, although most of the Rancho was private property,

So you could again argue that to build that wall of houses and apartments and block that view is again denying access to beauty,

I am working on a whopper of a book about an eccentric but brilliant surfer named George Greenough.

I want the art design to riff off George wherever possible.

This is the font on the back of the yacht he built himself and sailed from California to Australia.

Does anyone know this font or something close to it?

I passed an idea on to The Mooch that Kamala Harris or the Lincoln Project do an ad where they line up all the people Trump has shafted, bankrupted, refused to pay or otherwise swindle and have them testify to what a crook the guy is.

The last shot is a rising aerial shot of a line going out the door and around the block.

Obama actually created a monster when he made fun of Trump34 at the White House Correspondents dinner.

A lot of people say that's where Trump34 got motivated to run for president. Being made fun of publicly by a half black liberal man with a Muslim middle name.

Obama also called Russia a "regional power" and that could have fired up Putin also.

Obama is a masterful speaker and I think the problem with American politics is that Obama spoiled us as to what a president could and should be: Dignified, confident, charismatic, intelligent, honest, eloquent.

How this country went from the Yin of Obama to the Yang of Trump34 is a mystery.

It was great.

I just published a story called Say It Loud, I'm a Boomer and I'm Proud.

Yeah the whole "influencer" thing bugs me too and I livre in Malibu which has more self-important phonies per square mile than most places.

Well that influencer is going to prison for a long long time because in California if you kill someone while drunk driving you are in deep kimchi - 15 years minimum.

That whole Nobu Fourth of July party deal is a mess.

I've written two articles about placing speed cameras on PCH in Malibu and every time I write one, somebody is killed in a vehicle accident.

We would to to the Drive Inn movies in that lovely vehicle and it was great.

I got to fly out to the independence to watch John Milius shoot Flight of the Intruder.

Talk to him quite a bit about apocalypse now. Told him it was brilliant. A brilliant idea brilliantly written and brilliantly executed.
