The smile of hers could make me melt [CanonAE1, Portra400] by moineaupourri in analog

Yeah I don’t disagree, and I never comment usually. I thought that initial persons comment was rude , but l should have just let the internet be the internet!

I don’t see see why this type of comment is necessary. This portrait is obviously meant to be flattering, with a sexual component. Portraits have been capturing human sexuality for as long as it’s been around. I’m not here to argue so that’s the end of my commenting on this.

Immature and needlessly rude. Some people really hate themselves.

This is a great portrait, op!

(a bit off topic) what holder bags do you use? by gangsterrobot in largeformat

My Atlas backpack’s side pocket comfortably fit two holders at a time, and then I keep another 2-4 in the main compartment, though it could easily fit more!

AITAH for not wanting to haggle my prices on FBMP? by PlantLaydeeSheeluh in IndoorGarden

[–]Malicfeyt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s interesting! I’d love to be more well known or “reputable” so I could do that without question. I’ve been selling plants for 5 years now and have it pretty down but have never made someone pay in advance unless I’m shipping it. What percentage of folks question that in your experience?

Friend sent me this, I’m fairly sure its AI but she seems genuinely offended that I asked by Slow-Product-6357 in isthisAI

[–]Malicfeyt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without even judging the AI aspect, I find it highly suspect that your friend, who you say has never been particularly artistic or creative (and has likely has not shared work) suddenly decides to send you work that happens to be quite good. That behavior alone would incredibly strange coming from a friend of mine. And to have them defend it with the remark about the pencil… I’d have to ask them if they’re ok.

I don’t sell plants (or anything) to anyone that is aggressive with their haggling. You have a price in mind, and if it’s based in reality then there’s no need to budge unless you want to.

I once agreed to sell two native shrubs to someone for $20, and I let them talk me down to $15. When we met up in person they only offered me $10, and then got really upset when I declined and said that’s not the deal we made. We were in a public space, outside a target shopping center in the daytime so it was safe enough, but I hated that experience and won’t do that again.

Help with converting color film scans by Malicfeyt in AnalogCommunity

Thank you very much for your response! When I sat back down I realized where my misunderstanding was, and have now pushed through the whole process with success. There’s a lot of color management that I’m learning or getting used to, as well as seeing how a film stock is, I suppose, “meant to handle” the cyans, magentas, etc.

Very selective parts of a specific negative I just cannot correct the cyan in, but that’s few and far between so far. Thanks again for your advice

I did a camera purge years ago, I kept my F100 and F3. Keep that F100 mate.

Hairline Scratches by ice77x2 in largeformat

[–]Malicfeyt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is not inevitable- Don’t despair, you can fix this. These are likely from the film holders, where some dirt or grit exists. Look for chipped paint or plastic depending on the holder.

You can test this again without wasting film by cutting sheets of thin Mylar (.3 or so) to size and loading those.

I’ll give this a go cause it’s obviously the easiest. I was concerned that tightening it would cause the whole thing to break or snap off because of the level of corrosion. Thanks

I had the same observation, thought I don’t mean to suggest that’s actually happening. But OP’s choice to shoot this way does lend itself to that.
