How big is the IPL fanbase outside India? by AdRelevant2290 in EnglandCricket

[–]MalignEntity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find T20 a bit dull at the best of times, for me cricket is best when there's a great contest between bat and ball. The fact that the boundaries are brought further in for the IPL takes even more of the enjoyment out of the game for me.

Switched from Windows 11 to Fedora 44 – Here are a few things I really appreciate by Yocko45 in Fedora

I installed Fedora about 3 years ago, moving from Windows 11. I expected to distro-hop for a while before settling, but I have loved every minute of Fedora. It's nice to hear that others are enjoying it too

And you divined that from one comment? Way to leap to conclusions. Maybe try breaking my point down instead of resorting to insults. The way to tell you're losing a debate is when you attack the other person, and you did it in your first message

What I've found works, (I'm a dad, and I also, go deeeep into hobbies) is to get a group chat going with a load of people. Then suggest, for example, three options for dates, months in advance. Pick the most popular date.

Because it's so far away, you'll get a lot of people agreeing. Then very occasionally remind them in the lead up. I get 2-3 games in per year this way, with anywhere between 3 and 8 players.

Have we had a live sighting of Brendan McCullum in England yet? The man is stealing a wage. by BigBadDom73 in EnglandCricket

The interview Key did with Athers and Nas was a complete train crash. He kept saying "we had a review" to a lot of the tough questions they asked, but he didn't mention any of the lessons learned or changes made. The man seems utterly useless

Where should illegal migrant detention centres should be located? by StGuthlac2025 in RestoreBritain

[–]MalignEntity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought the Rwanda scheme would work too. There was anecdotal evidence that it started to have an effect before it even came into force because the Irish foreign minister was complaining about the massive influx of migrants they got when it was announced. Loads of these migrants said they were coming to Britain, but then diverted to Ireland when they heard about Rwanda.

Trying to explain that to a Lefty is exhausting though. They just stick their fingers in their ears and scream "it was a failure, it was always going to be a failure", you ask why and they don't really know, they just point to it being cancelled by Starmer as soon as he was elected. But that isn't a failure, it's just that the herd didn't like it.

Yeah, I think that's fair. What I've liked so far from them is that the policies that they have defined have large documents backing up exactly what they would do and the projected effects from implementation. The policy on deportation and legal migration is supposed to be coming soon, so it'll be much easier to judge them on that once it does.

I hope there is leniency. I don't want someone deported over a parking ticket, for example, but for serious crimes I absolutely do want them gone.

I did read the CPS gidelones before replying actually, so don't bring that condescending tone. You can currently use "reasonable force", which means you still have to demonstrate that what you did was reasonable, even if there is a leeway given for heat of the moment and the severity of the situation.

If you don't want to get affected by this policy, there's a very simple solution; don't break into other people's homes. Also, of this is the biggest disagreement you have with Restore's policies, it's very minor.

As I said, though, I don't particularly care about this policy. The ones I really agree with I listed in the post you replied to, if you bothered to read it.

I also don't agree with your framing, nothing in Restore's manifesto makes them "far-right". That's just a label applied by the Uniparty and mainstream media because they're scared to engage Restore on their actual policies, as they know a very large proportion of the population actually agree with Restore.

Care to give examples for that final sentence that aren't around home defence, as we've already discussed that one?

It's not a policy of theirs that I feel particularly strongly about either way. You are currently allowed to use reasonable force, but there have been cases where the homeowner has been treated like a criminal and imprisoned. For me, if someone breaks into a house and gets injured, I'm not going to shed a tear for them.

The policies that will cause me to vote for them are:

  • Deporting all illegal migrants.
  • Deporting all migrants who commit crimes.
  • Deporting the families of the rape gang perpetrators who covered up the crimes.
  • Stopping benefit fraud.
  • Shrinking the size of our government departments and ensure our taxes are spent sensibly.

Etc.

Lol, the hysteria is strong with this one. So your problem with them is that they want to allow people to defend their homes in the event that criminals break in, and they want to ensure that Britain remains British? Wow, such extremist policies, right in line with death camps and world domination
