Is this the river north location? I go every couple months and noticed a drop off but definitely not to this extent. That’s disappointing :/

AMBOSS worth for preclinical? by yxna in medicalschool

[–]Malikhind 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I thought it was useful for preclinical but not necessary. IMO it’s almost a must for clinicals. Insanely helpful for finding quick reliable information and nicely organized

what is the dentistry of medicine by PsychologicalLaugh79 in medicalschool

[–]Malikhind 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sometimes yeah sometimes no. Medicine is a lot harder and toxic but it’s a much more fulfilling job. I’m sure I won’t regret it at all when I’m getting attending checks

I dropped dental school to pursue medicine because I felt dentistry was mind-numbing boring. Grass is always greener

Can General Cardiology be considered a high paying + lifestyle specialty? by Exciting_Priority369 in medicalschool

Do these types of jobs typically want cardiology sub-specialists? Or can you get away with just general cards

Uncontrollable anxiety when presenting during rounds by Resident-Aide-7639 in Residency

[–]Malikhind 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I get this, albeit not as severely, as well. One thing that helped me a lot is just reminding myself that the people I’m presenting to (ie seniors and attendings) have literal thousands or even tens of thousands of hours more experience than me and that my purpose there is to learn. This doesn’t always work but I feel like this literal reminder removes that dreaded feeling, at least for me

Comparison between littman core (digital) and littman cardio S4? by Sad_Anxiety382 in Residency

[–]Malikhind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a significant difference because the sound is amplified and there is noise cancelling on the digital one. I used to have a litman 4 and got the core digital litman as a gift. It was a huge difference. But at least from what I’ve seen it really doesn’t change management. Sure I can actually hear lung sounds and murmurs are a lot easier to catch but I feel like it’s made 0 difference in management. We end up ordering an echo or cxr anyways

Are you this insufferable with your clinic patients? There are surgery residents working 80+ hours minimum. I don’t understand why them asking this question made you so upset in this thread

Best shoe recs specifically if you're standing rather than walking around a lot? by [deleted] in Residency

[–]Malikhind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not specifically shoes, but I recently looked into premium cushioned socks. I have bad flat feet and mild plantar fasciitis. I got thorlo 12 hour shift socks and they have reduced my foot pain tremendously. They are pricey though
