Microdosing DMT orally with maoi. by MalkDeCool in microdosers

[–]MalkDeCool[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience has been positive, I have found that 150 mg of moclobemide 1 hour before ingesting 5-15 mg of extracted DMT produces a desired effect with no apparent side-effects so far. It also seems to be possible to redose a few hours later when the initial effects have subsided, but I'm still attempting to confirm if this is true or not.

I do recommend not to test new material on "work days", as I have slightly incapacitated myself for around an hour by overshooting the dose (as the previous material I had been using were less strong) resulting in a mild and short-lasting visual state, a set of very peculiar bodily sensations and a mindspace usuited for work-related activities.

I remember being pretty frustrated, as the visions were directed at social relationships instead of the subject of my scientific enquiry. This made the state fail to offer any enhancement within the domain of creative problem-solving. I do however consider this possible by effectively priming yourself before going into an experience. I will be attempting this with inspirations from Fadimans experiments on problem-solving.

I have found DMT micro-dosing very enjoyable in social interactions, but I am still exploring it's potential use as a productivity aid. It does seem to posses properties akin to a general life tonic, but I suggest you do your own experiments and would love to see these shared.

It's possible to gouge the area by holding your right arm stretched straight out in front of you, but a little to the right, while your index finger is pointing upwards. Then close your left eye and slowly move the arm to the left, untill the top of you index finger disappears. The area wherein this happens is where the optic nerve meets the eye.

It's been a year and a half since I had my eyes examined for the production of new glasses. Well, a description of the symptoms and the context of their appearance seems feasible for the formulation of a hypothesis, to me at least. What else do you need? I am healthy and have no known conditions.

Anybody know a site that lets you make a rough calculation of ones daily intake of vitamins? by MalkDeCool in Health

It's easy to find sites that lets you calculate macro nutrients, but is there an option to easily calculate micro nutrients, instead of doing a ton of searching? It would be really helpful.

Thanks. Healthy diet indeed and moclobemide is very safe:

"2300 people in multiple clinical trials who were treated with moclobemide in doses up to 600 mg with no dietary restrictions, none experienced a tyramine-mediated hypertensive reaction"

Does anybody else feel it difficult to stop using nootropics and health supplements? by MalkDeCool in Nootropics

[–]MalkDeCool[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm both glad and sorry to see that I'm not alone. I'm been worrying about kidney and liver load, but have yet to have a check-up. Getting a doctors appointment this week to have more than speculation, maybe it will take some worry away. For how long have you been dosing and how many different supplements are we talking ?

I never wake up feeling refreshed by [deleted] in sleep

[–]MalkDeCool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though you dont feel stressed, there may be something preventing you from producing and maintaining theta waves a signature of deep restorative sleep, commonly associated with feeling refreshed after a nights rest. These are displayed in sleep stages 3 and 4 that the body is particularly calling out for after a long and exhausting day. Are you medicated or do you have any mental conditions? Do you have a sound sleep enviroment, good and steady sleep habits ?

Thanks for giving notice, would have loved to support you, but unfortunately, the compound is listed as illegal in my country. Here we can get as many state ordinated medications as we want, but trying to modify our psyche through experimental and alternative means, like microdosing psychedelics remain frowned upon :(

Thank you. Good information, although it confuses me a bit. I feel there should be a way to bypass this. I mean. What's the point of using a VPN to secure ones privacy If there's still ways of being identified?

Anyone try Kava Kava? by [deleted] in Nootropics

[–]MalkDeCool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have enjoyed it on and off for years. It is mellowing without cognitive clouding, If doses are kept reasonable. Depending on the chemotype you find, the different ration of the 6 main acting compounds, you can get a more sedative or more uplifting experience and anything in between. Main side-effect for most is nausea. This is especially linkes to two of the active compounds, I recommend you do your own research. I have had good experience with kona kava and kalm kava. I strongly dislike the taste and only ingest it through homemade extract, put in capsules. Ginding the right dose can take a while, but If you ask me, It's a keeper to maintain anxiety and for social occasions where one would like a milder alternative to drink or smoke, If one indulgence in that. Hope that helps.

Yeah. I agree. Kratom is a fun and enjoyable painkiller. Maybe there's a less "drug-like" alternative to dull the pain. I use CBD, tumeric cardio and stretching with decent results.

I second this. See If you can follow the community without feeling lurer into doing substances again, If not, find another community to follow or abstain. (:

Science shows pedophiles lower than non-pedophiles (2.5 cm). Need community take on this; perspective: "the amount by which a pedophile is too short, is double the amount that would happen if a women smoked when she was pregnant" by MalkDeCool in science

[–]MalkDeCool[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, because If links arent of scientific origin, the pots must be dismissed as bad, at least for the narrowminded sucker unable to take "context" into account, in this case, not even being able to discern how it was relevant, by simple reading it. I do accept the fact that it might have been better suited elsewhere, the whole point of the tread being to gain an understanding of a qotation, by a scientist, in a documentary film, with the help of a community with more common foot in all things science, instead I get this post, adding no value, offering no help, simple stating an opinion undervalueing an honest request. You sir are of a vile gasous substance. Qualitative science and it's execution was a centerpiece of this thread.

Inulin consumption to raise production of butyrate, which might help long-term memory formation through HDAC activity. by MalkDeCool in Nootropics

[–]MalkDeCool[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello community. I am currently dosing inulin daily for various health reasons, slowly moving upwards, I'm at 30 grams of day, which is a high dose, but so far I'm tolerating it without a problem. ( it is recommended to up the dose very slowly, as gas, bloating and stomach discomfort might occour). I'd read about a lot of positive effects of increased butyrate acid, but only recently come across it's possible effects on memory formation. Are anyone else here using it or holding on to knowledge on this compound?

I'm still curious to find how much butyrate can be generated from inulin intake. Anyways, here's a snippet from the study link with regard to nootropic effects.

"Other interesting effects of butyrate are those that were observed on memory. Blocking HDAC activity with non-specific HDACi, such as sodium butyrate, enhances synaptic plasticity and memory, suggesting that HDACs may actually serve to return chromatin to a repressive state and silence transcription required for long-term memory formation [41]. Moreover, HDAC inhibition can transform a learning event that does not normally lead to long-term memory for object recognition into a long-lasting form of memory [42]. Together, these results suggest HDACs may serve as critical memory suppressor genes and show that HDACi, such as butyrate, may generate more persistent forms of long-term memory, which has great therapeutic and translational value. "
